What about email addresses, IPs, passwords, byond accounts and other private data like the feet pics I send to admins in ahelps. Data Security is a serious thing.

Was not a forum jannie (I don’t think they get to see login info anyways) and there is no easy way for an admin to export people’s IPs/CIDs if you cared about those.

Admins do not have access to your byond password obv, we do not manage byond.

The worst someone could do to you via getting into an admins account is ban you, and there are several ways admins are notified depending on how badly they want you off the game. That or send naughty links ig.

In short u should not worry.

I've made a policy discussion thread to discuss this as it's critical community information and we as an ss13 community need to take action to ensure account safety. 2FA needs to be implemented and be available for players to use and mandatory for admins.

Yeah, I agree. Every admin should have to verify themselves on their phone before they can login, preferably with an official document confirming their identity and current address, along with a call to MSO to confirm their voice and to answer the 3 secret questions that they submitted prior, then MSO will decide if they can play for today. That would be relatively safe, and a disaster like this wouldn't happen again.

I feel CID is probably the way to go assuming it doesn't change with dynamic IP. Yeah there's cid spoofing but what are the odds someone knows your cid?

Hell you could probably throw CID whitelisting to game masters so it doesn't drown the headmins.
