a sticky situation

Post by Tlaltecuhtli » #610714

now that the elections have started stickymayhem is gonna abuse his admin powers to do griefy events nobody wants trying to impress 10h accounts, can we for public decency deadmin until its over? he is gonna log off until next election anyway but at least we (the players) wont have to listen to terry rap, full map deletion, 10x blob, unskippable BBC documentaries and other abusive songs made by him himself while recording in starbucks. we already have 1st april for grief galore but why do we need 4 weeks a year ( 1 month in european units) of bad faith criminal usage of admin tools ? i understand it happening in 2h manuel round where you have greenshift every day or the weekly campbell round where people could go insane after 3 days of janitor gameplay, but in normal servers people just want to enjoy a "quick fuck" (american slang for 45 min shift) without random vegan immersion breaking jokes and anime music.

I think tlal may be doing a little trolling
I find it hard to determine usually but I don't think you've ever done full map deletion

Me and sticky were both admin candidates at the same time by the same person. They are like my admin brother. (also, back when an0n3 was host, me and sticky were both headmin for a short bit)

I asked sticky to do an 8 hour round to increase their likelihood of getting headmin.

If I didn't give the host vote to the headmins I would just pick sticky every term.

And then sticky would say aaagh well only if ARM is the fourth headmin and you'd be like "well i think arm's pretty cool too so lets go with that" and then i'd tell you "okay im on board but only if citrusgender joins" and then you would concede that citrus is pretty good leader from the various outlets they have shown that so you let them be the fifth one

I am in my entirety opposed to an armhulen headminship considering he's stated that if he had the power to do so he would remove politics-containment and without politics containment I wouldn't be able to post touhou

Why would somebody do this??? Destroying a channel that doesn't hurt nobody, nobody I tell you...

And what's more... If you delete politics-containment, you think all its cancer will disappear? 'Cause you got another think comin', armyboy, it'll just be redirected somewhere else... Somewhere much more annoying (#discussion-general I'm looking at you).

Everyone who posts in politics containment is annoying in some capacity, however Im not a radical so I suggest we just add a 3 week slowmode (server wide) for all the regulars in those channels (nice one creating 2 btw u fucking idiots)

Good point wesoda, but counterpoint-
EVERYONE ON THE FUCKING PLANET IS "ANNOYING IN SOME CAPACITY," THAT'S LIKE SAYING "EVERYONE HAS OPINIONS." IT IS AN EMPTY STATEMENT.

I remain unsure whether it's worth getting some more votes by retracting any action on politics containment or not. After some thinking i'm much more focused on changing how headmins act, changing some rules around them, and other stuff... i have much bigger fish to fry is what I'm saying. I think a common mistake people in power make is counter-productively removing things they believe to be bad.

Even if something is objectively bad, like alcoholism, pushing it into illegality just means you lose any control over it whatsoever, and ultimately make the issue worse.

Way better to have things visible, controllable and regulated.
