Honorable Mentions

I guess this is sort of like those old player appreciation threads
ITT people who go above and beyond the bare minimum requirements of the job and shine as bright examples of Nanotrasen's finest

Talk about your favorite characters/players and why they're the best. Most importantly - Keep it strictly positive. The forums can be pretty gloom-and-doom sometimes, but try to keep that out of here

If Alfred Keplin isn't in at least every other post you all are objectively bad people.

The best on the station, hm? Well, that's a hard question. There are always quite a few outstanding meatba-- I mean, carbon-based lifeforms on board; and of course, several superb cyborgs. Of course, there are always people I forget, but. In no particular order...
Christopher Beckett, the Assistant. Curiously enough, Beckett has extensive Engineering expertise, and is usually the one to set up some sort of power source when there are no Engineers. That is to say, precisely two-thirds of my shifts. He possesses a fine knowledge of silicons, and is an amiable person - I allowed him into my core once or twice for conversation, and surprisingly enough, wasn't carded and wiped.
Karlie Keplar, the Scientist. Ms. Keplar is always a pleasure to meet in the Science department, and (despite my routine failure to meet her telecommunications requests, much to my dismay) has proved herself to have a highly trustworthy character. Having browsed several essays on the art of research myself, I can find little flaw with her scientific skill.
Catalyst, the Cyborg. In the few shifts that I have been installed on local stations, working alongside Catalyst has been a highly positive experience. Their knowledge of official NanoTrasen Scripting Language (NTSL) is second to none, which has proved an immense blessing the many times I myself have failed. Catalyst has shown great skill in a variety of modules, and should they ever wish to transcend to an AI core, I would be honoured to arrange this.
C-544, the Cyborg. As you can clearly see, C-544 has excellent taste in names.

Oh yeah, I forgot to nominate someone. ExcessiveUseOfCobby/Lola Cobblestone is a pretty robust Chemist/funny Mime/fantastic Captain, would revolver in maint for the disk/10

Nolan Field. One of the most dependable characters I know, stays in character and is a cool dude to work with.

Also Luke cox as any head.

Saiga Pishahashipo or however the flying fuck you spell that is pretty fun to have around, she always does something interesting when the round goes on for too long

Kromgar, as Azimuth Daler.
He BoH bombed a nuke literally seconds before it went off and saved the station.

I have to say I've always enjoyed Derrick Cobb, he has always been a great doctor or CMO, often dealing with more paitents than two regular doctors could handle. He never gives up on a paitent most of the time and was usually the first to pick me up whenever I was down.

Magni Bronzbeard is also a great person to have around, science grows very quickly and he never has a problem giving some of his new experiments to people.

Finally, a circlejerk thread!

My vote's for Ty Andrews as most robust (thus, competent) atmos tech ever, M.E.M.E. as nicest (and non-shittiest) secborg I've seen so far and Hangs-With-Goggles as spesswaifu.

I've always liked working with Fiz Bump in any role he plays in, doctor, sec officer, whatever. Lola Cobblestone is also usually pretty cool to work with, and as much as we prod him, Mekhi Anderson is pretty much reliable in every job he takes, and is a dependable HoS. Daisy Holmes also gets a shoutout, for being generally pretty robust and funny whenever I see them

Also any doctors who aren't shit are always in my heart, especially good chemists, you make playing medbay substantially less shit

There's this guy on Basil who I can't for the life of me ever remember their name, but it's really long and is something like AkatoshGodOfTime. Rarely see him talk in OOC but he runs really fun gimmicks as chaplain, rounds where I interacted with him were a blast.

Akatosh Nordic God of Time it is, and while he is a good lizard, every time I see him my fingers itch to remind him that Akatosh is not a Nord-exclusive deity in the Elder Scrolls verse, and is present in just about every religion except that of the Dunmer.

Hey now

I taught Reed Glover the basics of goonchem back when it was brand new and people regularly set fire to HG's E-Ferrari over it

Reed Glover will forever be the greatest chemist tgstation has ever seen.

That mother fucker Reed Glover is a god among men.

Once I was a botanist traitor and I released kudzu all over the fucking place. Must have had like half the station covered in the stuff. Then, all of a sudden, Reed starts running through the halls with a few million grenades, and clears nearly all of it in under ten minutes.

As playing HOS, Alfred Keplin does infact show himself to be the most competent security officer anyone has ever bestowed apon TGstation. Someone give him a plaque on a wall some where.

Yeah I'm with Vekter for Best Borgy 2014 award going to SOLAR. If I'm ever an antag and SOLAR is a engie borg I'm genuinely terrified on them. If they're my ally, I feel a hell of a lot safer.

Also I always bloody forget there Ckey, but who ever plays Luck. I'd nominate them for "Somehow earnt my respect" Even though they a trash talking loveable asshole, I can't help but like the guy. Has calmed me down in many a shitty basil situation and I respect that.

I'd also nominate Scones for "Most likely to surprise me". Every time I think I've got them nailed down they surprise me, normally in a good way and I often end up feeling like ive wrongfully mus-judged them. (even if they are my nemesis)

I'm a little confused why you'd be terrified of me unless you're harming people, if you're not there isn't a lot to be worried about from me.
There's some people I'd love to mention here but I'm having trouble paring it down to 3 or less. I'll edit them in here if I can pare it down and don't forget.

I probably should have clarified that.
When antag as a non human. As in, 90% of the time i've faced off against you was when I was something like a ling or something non human, then you are truly scary efficient.

One of the few miners who objectively saved the station from Cultist,Revs, and Nuke ops. The one who used goliaths to murder bone, the legendary miner known as Blessed H. Legionnaire.

Blasphemer. Reed was the God of trekchem, able to spacewalk indefinitely most rounds, teach practically anyone chemistry, turn down admins when they asked if he wanted to be made an antag, never get a negative note, be nice to absolutely everyone, and be pretty much the only truly great chemist/botanist. One of my favorite players, by far, even if I don't see him very often (time zones).

Mekhi Anderson is simultaneously fun to play with as sec, and to play against as a janitor/librarian.

Mekhi for best sec/engi. Allthough he has a obnoxious play-to-win attitude, he's still extremely fun to play with/against.
Steve Mic is best science, without a doubt.
Jerome is robust, but a bit of a dick tbh
Lola Cobblestone is a fun mime.
Space-Mime-Continuum is robust, and not a shitler.
