everybody knows that if you fill a spraybottle with water you get a stunbaton, but did you know that filling them with welder fuel gets you a flamethrower? one spray of welder fuel instantly ignites people

Is that for real? How does the welding fluid ignite? If it sets people on fire that's pretty great.

Well yeah but if you still need to hit them with something on fire you may as well just bottle smash them since it stuns them.

As was demonstrated to me once quite firsthand, mixing in pepper spray and welding fuel together both stuns the target and makes them flammable meaning your can set them alight once they go down with no act of retaliation because repeated sprays will keep them stun-locked and keep the fires burning. :salt:

Of course it's lethal. That's the only reason I'd want to use it as security. Spray on its own is a bit shit, except to make an escape from a crowded room.

Lethal tactics have a range of applications in a security role, so long as you're not just focused on petty crime.

Unless you could get a cryogenic sprayer (im going to write it down as a minor suggestion)

But yes, its a component reaction, unlike chemical flash or EMP reaction cigarettes that only react once they are lit.

Dunk cigarettes/cigars/rollups (rollups take custom dried plants and apply the reagents) in juice, preferably a cryobeaker for sensitive materials that react on mixing, you could have napalm cigarettes, explosive or unstable mutagen cigarettes that only activate when they are lit.

Scenario: Traitor chemist, some rood dude secborgs come in to dunk my ass and the AI is watching me like a hawk, i need to escape so i light up my cigarettes at close range and send them haywire. Alternatively using infinite oddesseus chem replication, create a huge stash of polonium and poison every smoke for muh poison murderboner (Plan b is to create super nutrient cigarettes that induce fatness and then shoot mint chems via oddesseus)

Ice creams stop at ten reagent when condiment is applied directly ontop of them. My own personal gimmick is to make Ozmine ice creams that heal as you lick and can patch you up nicely for minor damage and simultaneously stablise someone who is dying safely without the risk of overdosing them even if you give them the whole ice cream (In addition its not very filling, so eating a healthy amount of food to vigorous levels will maximise the output of the ozmine per minor lick of the ice cream more)

In theory with this, the chef can be service's field medical responsible for keeping people running at peak efficiency and healing them of minor wounds being more invaluable than people would care to appreciate.

All Syndicate toolboxes have combat gloves in them - insulated and heat-resistant. This includes ones found in space or on the mining asteroid.
If someone has eaten a demon heart, you can surgically remove it to get it back and eat it yourself to gain their powers. This kills the person, though.

Any time a syndie bomb is destroyed by explosion it will itself explode. You'll need a blast capable of destroying the bomb itself if you don't want to remove the core, but if you do, any blast should be enough to set it off, even something like an IED

Trays are extremely robust items.

They deal a moderate amount of damage, and are robust enough to render someone unconscious despite not being a bulky obtrusive object that can sit neatly on a belt while also being a utility item that can hold small increments like a bag including snack like ice creams and drinks (coffee, ice and all things nice) that to my knowledge doesn't spill or drop when you robust someone with it.

Be the hero this station deserves, grab a tray and your own personal stash of medicinal and poison ice creams (polar-nium whipped ice cream :honk:) force feed your allies back to health and grant your unconcious robusted enemies a mercyful death as the polonium takes hold and lets thier short regretful lives flash before thier eyes as the culinary angel of death hovers above them, then drags them into a gibber and serves them up for hotdogs.

Nerf trays, slayer of antags and kitchen invaders please.

*Edit - Butler borgs have access to trays and can solo a golem with it.

The appeal of the tray is the decent knockdown change, plus the super-satisfying WHOMP when you hit someone with it and the tray's contents go flying everywhere.

Add proxy grenades to the tray and smack someone with it. Its like a ghetto clustergrenade with how it throws them everywhere, usually hilarious.

I will admit, the CLANG is really satisfying. Still, knockdown chance is determined by the object's force plus ten, with that chance occurring whenever someone attacks the chest of a human (i.e. here, it's 15%, whereas an extinguisher is 20%) whereas unconscious chance is just the object's force when you attack the head.

So that's what knockdown chance is. Huh. I guess now I know why pickaxes and spears seem to do it so often, it's literally a 1/4 or slightly higher chance of just winning at space.

40% chance per hit when targeting the chest, and 30% when targeting the head... except you hit the limbs half the time anyway, since BYOND RNG.

The KO chance (head) seems to work, at least. I know I've seen people KO on the first or second hit very frequently with an energy sword, though since you only need 4 hits to crit someone total it's not so important as it sounds. In situations like that you're best off going for the head rather than the chest, purely because knock out will make them unable to scream, whereas knock down will leave them on the floor and yelling for help.

So energy swords are good at knockout RNG, but are too deadly to actually knock people out effectively enough. Batons that are off have a decent chance to knock people unconscious i have found for very offensive targets that should probably be killed rather than brigged for possessing stands and what have you. (but you're not one of those guys right :valid:)

Batons on the other hand when injected with plasma filled cells explode upon when they enact body contact in thier operative state. (As a tator you could keep stunbaton boomstick for your die a glorious death - blast may very well gib you if you use a bluespace battery or use it as a weapon in a protective RD suit) its the little known and little talked about predecessor to our current warboy spears.

It is impossible to gib yourself or anyone using any cell of any size - they are hardcoded to never do "Total Devastation" damage. A bluespace powercell explosion is (-1, 3, 6) explosion. Wearing the RD's hardsuit, you will survive with 32 brute and burn damage (64 total), and you will not be harmed by the hull breach if you are running on internals.

gotta remove all sources of gibbing and body destruction lest someone actual manages to kill a changeling without getting 6 guys to surround the body as you slowly drag it to the cremator and hope someone has crematory access.

God forbid we *gasp* remove people from the round! Quick, bubble wrap all the sharp corners
Arthur Thomson says, "Since there are no admins I would loging with another account and kill you"

How on earth is it a meme? People complain about getting taken out of the round all the time

Now don't quote me on this, but I remember one round while observing, one admin was testin out plasma cell explosions, and I distinctly remember the explosion scaling with cell capacity (hence why the infinite cell made a small boom due to the technically small capacity), but I can't remember if it also scaled with plasma amount.

Additionally, I remember some time much more recently where someone tested this again and found that atleast one of the above was incorrect.

Anyone able to clarify exactly how that all works out?

I've just tested it, and the only thing that matters is the capacity of the cell - but you have to inject at least 5u plasma at once to make the cell "broken". You can't do 4u and then 1u, for example, and injecting 50u will be the same as 5u. Bluespace cells are -1, 3, 6, 0 -- quite a large explosion.

E: Never mind, Gun Hog got there first. Great minds think alike?

Because I totally did not say that a few posts ago! :geek: :ugeek:

You can use a screwdriver on a grille to detach it from the ground

Using a combat 6 and bluespace whatever tech portal gun, you can travel between away missions and z levels allowing yourself to make a base off station and kidnap people without them crying for help.

Also wearing a syndie hardsuit on top of a gang uniform (not exosuit uniform, charcoal suit for example) makes you have roughly the same defence values as a deathsquad member on gang mode.

How much armor do gang uniforms have?
also, is there a way to release gas like n20 or plasma besides opening a canister or using vents?

If you spill a beaker of unstable plasma (i.e. ground sheets), it turns into a gas. Other than that, no way to make it happen, I think.

outfit.armor = list(melee = 20, bullet = 30, laser = 10, energy = 10, bomb = 20, bio = 0, rad = 0)

Which is quite incredible for a jumpsuit, all other jumpsuits barring the admin one never exceed 10 in any rating. If you get specialized armor or kill the Captain for his carapace, [[armor = list(melee = 50, bullet = 40, laser = 50, energy = 10, bomb = 25, bio = 0, rad = 0)]] you can have quite the robust set of resistances for your chest. If someone goes for your head or limbs, though, you are still vulnerable.
