Bottom post of the previous page:

What about the fact that the HoS looted his shoes (presumably no-slips), likely to use to his own ends? That's shitcurity and should make you valid to anybody else who happens to notice you, the HoS, is using traitor items.

hue.

EDIT: That isn't to say that using traitor items in general shouldn't make you valid, either; running around with an EMP light makes you liable to get lynched, even if you weren't actually harming anybody.

Why would you NOT use confiscated traitor items as Security to help you?

Normally I award non-lethal traitor items to my Officers when they catch a Traitor with their gear.

Traitor stuff is contraband. Security is supposed to obey the law and either destroy traitor stuff, or put it in the contraband locker in the armory. Do they? Fuck no, but they're supposed to.

Grow the fuck up. Nothing is broken, you aren't in any danger, and the mime definitely isn't valid.

>Anyone ever giving the mime/clown a chance to do anything entertaining ever

PPPPFFFFFFFFTTTTT

>Getting wrecked by an antag and acting surprised when they loot your shit

If you get killed by an antag, of fucking course you're getting looted. They need every edge they can get against the crew and sec. You, on the other hand, are sec. You don't need antag items-- you already outnumber the enemy and are often better equipped than them. You don't need to cheat the fucking system so that you have the highest chance possible to shorthand antags out of victory.
Drynwyn wrote:The second one is a bit of a gray area. By space law, having bombs outside the Toxins lab is Possesion of an Unauthorized Weapon- not a capital offense. However if there was reason to believe you were going to use them, which may well be "having them in place y" that's attempted Grand Sabotage- valid for perma.
But the thing is, I hadn't tipped my hand as a traitor in the slightest. Security had fuckall on me. The only reason I got searched and found out was exactly as I said-- it was a random search, which is exactly the problem. I should have never been found out, the warden shouldn't have been sitting in telescience, and I should have succeeded in bombing the station and having fun.

Calm your asses down. No more vitriol about the Mime EMP story. If you think either side was valid for punishment outside of the round, you can take it to Ban Requests.

If you furthermore think that there's a policy you want to see changed or enacted about the way Security handled this, there's a policy discussion forum. I won't remove the discussion that didn't get absolutely hostile, but stick to posting different stories from here on out.

Never play silicon again. You are not security, you do not deal out a special brand of sec and hunt down and punish all the potential human harmers if they're fucking heads of staff. Sure, it doesn't say anything in your laws about ranks, but seriously? I'd put you on an intellicard and fucking deconstruct you for being a complete shitter.

The AIs laws don't have special clauses for heads of staff. Trying to kill people is trying to kill people and it's your duty, as per your laws, to prevent that. The AI is doing what the AI is supposed to do, full stop. :^)

Bolting doors is totally going to stop the heads of staff from executing traitors, definitely. Face it, you're being an unnecessary speed bump when executions are literally covered under space law.

Don't bitch when you get shut down or your borgs get blown, if you're going to get in the way.

Yeah, it's called, "don't be a fucking retard and get in the way of the command staff with the ability to shut you down and then get mad when you get shut down, because you're a toaster and there's no obligation to keep you around if you're not going to work in the interests of the high-rank employees that NT selected to run the station, because they run the station, not you, and you're a part of the station, not a crewmember."

That's the policy.

Yeah those AIs who bolt down sec so readily, yet make no effort to bolt down anyone else causing harm, really piss me off

One round, where it was cult, we had deconverted a couple of cultists, and I handed out gear to officers, because of juggernauts, and wraiths, etc etc, that the cultists had made, and told them if they can't capture a cultist alive, rather than getting killed in the process of doing so, they could use deadly force, as covered in space law

The AI bolted down the entire brig with all of us in it, and let the constructs loose, funnily enough, we got pretty annoyed at it

Morale of the story, don't be a dick with your laws, pre-emptively bolting people down before any harm occurs, or is definitely going to occur, is bordering on the same bullshit as bolting the armory at round start, and that got stopped a long time ago

That's the policy.
1.Don't kill silicons for trying to stop you from executing someone. It's required of them by their laws.
2.Do note there is a difference between a silicon stopping you from executing someone, and a silicon bolting down all of security because of one officer. They'll be treated differently.
And, for posterity;
1. It is not the AI's/Silicons job to follow space law unless the law being violated is causing harm. Don't just willy nilly bolt people down for theft unless ordered to.
That, actually, is the policy. this is getting off topic though, so whatever, I'll leave you to sperg out because the AI isn't cherrypicking and following its laws only when convenient to you. I'm not defending those assfuck AIs that target security and only security, but frankly it's clear that's not what you're talking about; you're just mad that the AI is doing what its supposed to do, not what you want it to do.

I used to have that problem because of Discovery Freelancer. I'd put an /l before everything on steam out of habit. It caused mucho confusion in EVE, too. ._.

Don't do em. I usually make up my own objectives and ignore what I'm givin unless it's a specific roundtype. If I get general traitor I never do em. I like to abduct people and plant bombs inside their stomach and watch them as they run to medbay screaming and naked. I thought it was policy that I required to do my objectives for months and it usually gave me MASSIVE anxiety about completing them.

Laaaaaame.
If it's any consolation, we didn't finish after picking it back up.
Spoiler:
There's always more than consolation, though...

Was this on Boxstation(Sybil) or Metastation(Artyom), either way the blob spawns should not be placed next to fuel tanks by default. If so I'll move them.

Ha, aw jeez.

I just took a look at the blob spawns on Metastation, the one in question is literally right on top of a wielding tank.

That's not right at all, I'll remove the blob spawn when I get a chance.

This is a non-/tg/ story, to preface this.
>Start off as Head of Personnel, August Finster
>Traitor! Assassinate the Captain!
>Captain roleplays as an extremely old man, says he's bedridden and sick
>Has us hold a staff meeting around his bed as the CMO treats his imaginary disease (fatal but slow acting)

>I dismiss the heads except for the RD, who slipped some keywords during our meeting
>Agree to kill the other heads so long as he provides me an AI upload
>Work the good old Finster charm on each character, have a lowlit dinner with each before shooting them with my revolver
>Have the bodies dumped by some assistants whom I pay, and get the upload
>Standard insurance lawset, hail Finster, only do this simply to have the AI under my control
>Invite the RD for wine and victory steak, stab him with my parapen as we clink glasses
>The Captain, who was getting worse without his Medical aid, becones me in
>Wash up and attend his bedside, after saving some rounds for him
>"August...the time has come...come closer...."
>lean in
>"Closer...."
>lean in
>"August...I...thought you were smarter..."
>He rises and stabs me with a parapen
>Walks into the bathroom, walks out bald and in a new Cencom Uniform
>Cuffs me and explains as I wake how he's an undercover Centcom agent investigating my corruption
>Pieces together my murders
>Suddenly both eaten by Singulo
My only regret was not being able to finish the fucking round, it was 10/10 to that point.
