Also the first time Runtime was added, it caused a runtime. Hence the name.

The red phone is a reference to Portal. It was placed in the AI foyer originally, just like the red phone in the Glados chamber.

The immovable rod is a reference to D&D which has a rod by the same name that, when activated, will stay where it is and not be moved.
I dunno if the emag, e-bow or any of the other iconic traitor equipment is a reference to anything. I think the emag was first added in... 2003? I don't know, it was way before my time, I was still learning the difference between boys and girls back then
