I know drones generally just build an autism fort with a protolathe and whatever, but have you actually done anything more than just fix holes and build R&D toys with stolen materials? What sorts of projects would you like to try as a drone that you just haven't for whatever reason?

Can't really think of anything besides themed builds.

I've turned the library and maint behind it into a smoking lounge + casino. Grabbed an RCD and removed literally everything out of the Vacant Office, including the floors, but left the lighting and AI camera and admin renamed the door to "Extremely Vacant Office" and bolted it. Grabbed an RPD and ran a direct pipeline from the plasma tank into Toxins burn chamber, but by the time I got there the shuttle was called and the guy had already made a ton of shitty bombs and fucked off.

I really want to try to recreate a redundant mini station off station in space. telecomms system, minor departmental stuff like a sleeper, chem, auto/proto/robo lathes for goodies. When hell happens to the station I can just flip a breaker switch and functionally restore the station from my spessfort.

Will require I figure out telecomms first though.

One time when drones were new and basil was still pretty low pop me and most of the other players in the round killed ourselves and had a massive war as drones, taking shit from the armory and murdering eachother repeatedly. It was certainly against the laws and spirit of the drone role and if there were any admins around we probably would have been banned, but it was still a pretty good time

I'm often a stickler for the rules, but it's only the ones that maintain order and !FUN!. I'm a very strong believer in the notion of some rules being made to be observed, evaluated for their purpose, and broken, and El Bandito Mecánico sounds hilarious.

I'd say Droney Gonzales falls under that.

I too once broke the rules as a drone, It was an ages old round on Basil (I think), it was quite, no more than 30 people, and I was Best Drone and the captain was a bit mad and he had a pizza party in his office full of braindead people, himself, and me, it was really quite disturbing.

I've been trying to work on my telecomms drone gimmick but so far I haven't been able to get a multitool held by a drone to work on telecomms equipment I've built from scratch. Either I'm doing something entirely wrong or there's something stopping drones from interacting with tcomms equipment.

This might explain my trouble linking teleporters a little while ago because I was just beating the shit out of all the machinery instead of multitooling it.

I'm not meaning Rule 0 (though glad it works that way), I think I'm actually remembering the previous ruleset (before it all got simplified), which specifically had a "admins can disregard these if it's fun enough" clause.
