Honorable mention to /vg/ for being toxic regarding powergamers while at the same time they will shit on each other for not being able to make a convoluted cryo mix in the first 5 minutes of the game, or have a literal autistic shitfit if they're not allowed to use a telescience outpost to sit watching a medical screen for the duration of the shift to make sure nobody does.

It's not normal autism. Theirs is advanced autism.

I hold an almost unreasonable grudge against their server because of how impossibly backwards their gameplay is, yet how simultaneously ridiculously popular they remain.

To me, it's like "god, all these people have to put up with this bullshit for their xeno fix when it could be done SO MUCH BETTER."

The idea and gamemode are totally fine, the way they execute it with bay mechanics, forced RP ignorance of mechanics, map knowledge etc, long-ass wait times, baymed that causes timeouts any time anyone gets a stubbed toe etc... HOW does anyone enjoy this?

The simple answer to enjoying CM is: Never enter medbay.
If you get a gash in the chest, just keep on fighting. This isn't funny nigger, medbay is the least fun room on the map and if you get locked in there, abandon hope

CM rp mechanics are understandable up to the point where you realize while they enforce a lore context where marines know nothing about aliens for good reasons, they don't enforce marines having some common sense so people die to the dumbest things. Their administration is also questionable.

But the real killer of CM is its clunky controls. That FUCKING click delay and need to click an item in storage directly instead of just it's box. I really hope that's changed. CM was so fun but tg just played so much more smoother.

CM is so far behind the state of the art at this point in terms of smoothness.

It's a shame but that's what you get if you go closed source and don't attract contributors from other codebases
