I like the look of the talent tree and how as you unlock stuff and get stronger, you lose things in the process. That way everyone isn't a cookie cutter build.

As for the beta, it will only be 1 map out of the 12, and the antagonist choices are limited to 1 or 2.

Tips:

Don't run around as a survivor all the time, as you leave red footprints for the bad guy to follow.

Items you have on you when you escape are stored in your main menu inventory. You can select them to use in another match. If you die, it's removed from your inventory.

As you progress through your talent tree, you will see a black area. These encroach on talents you know. If you learn new talents, these will be lost. Choose carefully.

As a hunter, don't rush to kill everyone. Play with your prey to get more points.

As a survivor, you don't have to work with others. In fact, you can use others as distractions. Survival of the fittest.

I always knew they hated defensive killers, Trapper has been weak since....always, actually. But they just straight up removed the only viable defensive killer playstyle, and they justified it with a buff to where you have to work on a gen for 5% progress before regression would stop.... which primarily benefits offensive killers, not defensive killers.

BHVR makes goofball's "ided" salt PRs look like reasonable balancing decisions, I swear.

also the classes are so fucking busted man. "AoE sprint burst + windows of opportunity + old made for this" compared to "you can see aura of gens (not needed because there are 5 gens you don't need to do) + you get a meager bonus to gens (you have to hit great skill checks)"

I played DBD for a little bit a couple years ago and found it kinda fun but ended up burnt out because the gameplay loop isn't very engaging, especially when you aren't playing killer. I found the players to be a lot of what made the game unfun. A lot of toxic attitudes and way too many ways to grief people.

I played it again this year and everything is worse holy shit, how do you still play this garbage. I got flashlight bullied for 3 rounds (I didn't play survivor when I reinstalled) and even though I got half of the survivors in two rounds, I still felt like I lost. Every team of survivors are in a voice call and want to make you miserable. Honestly I don't even understand why anyone would want to play survivor because staring at generators is so boring, and most the time you have someone with a stack of max level meta perks that make winning much easier. Or you get a 50/50 chance that the killer is the most OP one (also the most recently added) and will stomp all over your team because they can.

Also they nerfed The Shape and The Legion which made me sad. I did get a fun moment where the last survivor made a break for the hatch but I get them with Shape Lvl.3 lunge, pick them up, take them to the hatch, and set them down and close it right in front of them. They still have infinite loops too which are stupid, I miss being able to Mori all over little punks that try that shit before they nerfed them. I ended up fighting fire with fire and playing The Doctor a lot too just to fuck with people and make them miserable as well. I don't think I will ever reinstall it and I can say that with certainty. It's a shame because I could see it being a fun game with a group of 5 similar skilled friends that you just trade off killer with.

Either run Lightborn or stare at walls when you get a down, you can also just leave if they're being especially toxic, you only get a 30 second MM ban the first time and 5 minutes the second.

2v8 sounds silly. Good thing I only played DBD on PS4 so having to pay for PS+ prevents me from reinstalling and inviting the salt entity back into my life.
Are the killers randomly matched or can you lobby up and pick a killer duo that synergizes well. I love the idea of theory crafting OP killer tag teams. Also can you have two of the same killer? I wouldn't think so, but it would make it even more silly.

Also I want to share this because as a former Myers Main, this is my culture.

my biggest issue with 2v8 is the fact there's no hooks. it totally ruins the flow of the game. snowballing is way too prominent on both sides. it's straight up better to slug survivors than to hook them, since when you hook survivors in the mode it often spawns them right next to other survivors. also if you never hook anyone it makes it really easy to slug everyone because it aura reveals survivors that haven't been hooked before when a gen is completed lol

you can team up with a friend before matchmaking. you cant have two of the same killer.

my biggest issue with 2v8 is the fact there's no hooks. it totally ruins the flow of the game. snowballing is way too prominent on both sides. it's straight up better to slug survivors than to hook them, since when you hook survivors in the mode it often spawns them right next to other survivors. also if you never hook anyone it makes it really easy to slug everyone because it aura reveals survivors that haven't been hooked before when a gen is completed lol

the no hooks means you don't get 7 survivors waddling between you and the hook every down to prevent you from securing any points. i say cages are a fair trade off to prevent that because i think after one match of having someone wiggle free due to the body block conga people would get tired of the game

Your mistake is playing it with the only goal being to get an 8k. Where the game mode shines is working with the other killer to pull off crazy tactics you couldn't do by yourself.

I'm also having fun with it as a survivor if just because it's a fun change of pace.
