Too bad there isn't an improvised weapon specialist.

Actually, it's too bad there really isn't ANY turn-based tactics game with a class like that, to my knowledge.

My biggest complaint about XCOM 2 is that the further advanced your armor gets the more and more your soldiers look like fuckboys.

Seriously who fucking designed this shit.

The WAR suit isn't that bad, since it has all the cool toys you could expect from a terminator suit, and also has bulky stuff that makes it look like an actual armor.

Skorvold missed a shot with a 100% chance to hit.

The entire squad died as a result.

With Xcom 2 (And Xcom in general) you are aiming to cover for any contingency in game, meaning you should be doing whatever you can to ensure that even if you miss that 97% shot (which I did in my game) that it won't screw your game over.

If your in a situation where that single shot can make or break your game, then either your doing something wrong or your in a horrible position.

Don't the time limits in the missions sort of force you to take risks, though?

My average of remaining turns in my previous campaing were of 2.5. You have time to rethink something.

Yeah, you have to act aggressively but that does not mean you need to run in blind.

A good example is using a Ranger with the Phantom ability to remain concealed, this gives you good scouting information and a guaranteed first shot/grenade/whatever on a enemy pod all the time.

So long as your constantly pushing towards to the objective and extract you should be fine, the only problem is if you get bogged down in a drawn out gun fight, which should be avoidable if your scouting and getting good first hits in.

Fuck Landed UFO Assault missions.

Perhaps I got a bad roll of the dice but I ended up fighting two ADVENT Superheavy turrets (right near my spawn and alligned right in the way of the UFO), a squad of Muton's, another of MEC's and Stun Lancers with the coup de grace of a Sectopod with Stun Lancers. followed by another squad of MECs and Troopers. All this on a SIX turn timer to shut down the UFO SoS signal.

Amazingly only three people died, two lower level expendables but my one max rank Specialist.

I decided to spend the resources from this mission on getting my new Tier 3 armour.

A panicked Aggro Crag had a PTSD flashback on how elves killed his rabbit, forcing him to kill four enemies and two bystandars in a single turn. Crits a person only to have 'accidently' shoot a propane tank. And Hay Hay doesn't speak english, all of that ooga booga talk seems like german.

Man I really hope they fix XCOM 2's preformance soon.

My Commander Ironman save file just got corrupted/broken as I was on the final mission. I had to quit mid way though and when I came back the save file is borked and it crashes to desktop.

What a downer.

>Avatar Project 10/12, the informer is pissed off
>One facility in Mexico, another in indonesia, I'll need five contacts to reach both
>3/4 contacts
>Magnetic weapons are a go, second tier armor, ASAP.

This looks hopeless, and yet, as things stand, I see the way to final victory in these numbers, since the final countdown won't start this month, so I can expand to Mexico before the final countdown begins, and, as long as I don't lose I can already delay the countdown twice (by skulljacking and raiding the first story mission)
One month to final countdown, with a time limit of +25 days, before it ends, I skulljack one officer, so -2, around a month more of time, I raid mexico, so another -2, and the blacksite after that, I'm counting on around five months, and that's more than enough time to clear most investigations, let the engineers prepare the rooms, and start spamming contacts, so I can respond to most facilities the moment I need them down.

I rode on 2 bricks away from game ogre for about half of my game so far, I just gathered shit and by month 6 I had plasma rifles. Just laid down some thick ass whoopns afterwards and knocked it back to 4 bricks.

Welp, I just discovered that facility intel unlocks any alien facility, even if you cannot reach the region yet.
Best 50 intel spent ever, because the facility in question was the hardest to reach, and so, instead of using the skulljack, or raiding the blacksite, I can raid a facility, stop the countdown, and keep at my current pace.

Sweet jesus, a UFO made me crash land and angry elves lead the charge. Rather than he walk out of the ship and did most of the killing with AOEs and propane tanking in a war suit.

Save your fucking elirium crystals when playing in legend, people. Seriously, you'll be short of everything just to make a shitty beam rifle.

Honestly, I'm not too hot about legend difficulty, it isn't harder than commander combat wise (Fights may be larger, but the xenos aren't really stronger) it's more of a commander difficulty with marathon mode enabled, most things take a lot of time, so you just gotta delay the avatar project until you have either power armor or beam guns and feel ready to rush the story missions.

Dunno, maybe I'm too spoiled by long war, and simply I don't feel the difficulty as much as other players.

As per (or rather, aspie, as the case may be) usual in these sorts of games, I'm thinking of starting over now that I've got a general feel for the game. The only problem is I'd lose FABRIZIO FERRARI and I don't know if I can live with that.
