Bottom post of the previous page:

Someone tell me when the rumored frigates get put in so I can re-yarhar it and see if I'll buy it then

That's probably another No Man's Lie though

And Star Citizen revealed, through purely gameplay being shown, that they too have planets to explore. Lots of them, but they seem to actually have the resources to do it.

And then they made 140 million in sales in a day

But will exploring planets in SC be fun?
Because exploring in ED is boring.

I have no idea. How does one make exploring fun anyway? Isn't exploring just looking at stuff? Star Citizen is the 2nd coming, so I'm sure they'll find a way... right?

The difference here is that SC said "Oh, right. We have a bunch of planets you can land on too. If you want to. We might put some stuff on it"

Rather than making a game about exploration, they're making a game in which you can explore.
The former will inevitably lead to sadness because it cant stand up to the hype

The only strike likely to be witnessed here is a figurative cock slap, and the odds of you being the one delivering it are low.

No Man's Sky is officially a scam according to Steam, and they will refund even if you have more than 2 hours on it
Now the official owner count is going down, more people are refunding than buying
http://steamspy.com/app/275850

It's entertainment I didn't even have to pay for

No Man's Buy into No Man's Scam.

If only it had remained $20 instead of $60...

Good intentions, road to hell, isn't there a saying like that?
Cos it sure must feel like hell for these devs right now.

Good intentions were a bit sparse so we only paved a garden path to hell.

Too little, too late

They promised the world and they delivered nothing. A bit of construction isnt going to change people's minds

Tried the update in the new creative mode. Basebuilding felt lackluster. Maybe it's because I haven't gotten all the specialists, but it seemed all the construction stuff was unlocked in creative. Other than farming, there doesn't really seem to be any real use to the base other than cosmetic reasons. The base size itself is kinda limited. There's a radius in which you can build off before it stops you. Dunno how secondary bases work or if they do. There's some sort of prebuilt structure I had to start off that let me claim the planet, so you might not get to choose where you build.
Unsurprisingly enough, the storage containers are bugged. It let's you rotate it any direction... except for the direction that would make the interface accessible. Their size is also only 10 slots, so for their physical size it's kinda disappointing.

As for creative mode, you don't use resources and your enviromental shielding at least is infinite, didn't get a chance to test the normal one, but while they give you the blueprints for the Atlas passes and base parts, they don't give you much else past starter blueprints, so you'll have to find hyper drive upgrade blueprints and other stuff like normal. You also start with the basic multitool, ship, suit storage, and no words learned, so you have to locate those too.
The teleporter is nice, but basically completely mandatory, since the galactic map still makes it pretty much impossible to find a previous system. Although it replaces the suit upgrade station on space stations.

Haven't managed to find out how to buy a freighter yet.

All in all, the update seemed too little, too late. I might play for a few days again, but there doesn't seem to be any huge improvement.
