Gay people are also complaining about this game

>There is an achievement for romancing 3 people in one game
>Only 2 gay M/M options, one of which has no lines

They really didn't think this through

Everyone is complaining about the game. This is a real example of devs trying to "pander" to the LGBTQ community but just demonstrating that they have no idea how to write such characters.

Multiplayer is great so far, combat and leveling is also great, but a lot of the writing for the campaign is 'did you even try' tier.

Foster 'my face is tired' Addison is one of the deadest characters I've encountered in a video game, and has a lot of other lovely lines like "Ugh, history is repeating itself. I hate poetry." (???)

They don't even get grammar right all of the time: there was an in-game ad for colonial affairs that said "Pick which planet on which you want to spend your vacation on."

It really irks me that they didn't do more with the story. I saw the dark matter cloud in the opening scene and got really excited, thinking they might go full Solaris and have a semi-sentient/responsive alien that's just a massive glob-like organic thing, only to be disappointed with more bipedal humanoid aliens with guns.

They justify everyone having similar tech levels with no monolithic megacivilizations or paperclipping AIs in the first 3 mass effects to the fact that the reapers come in and destroy everything every 50,000 years. However, you travel to a new galaxy only to find... aliens with a similar tech level. I'm wondering how they'll justify this one, or if they'll even try.

Your starting squadmates are really boring too. You'd think they'd pick scientists or intellectuals for a team of explorers, and instead you get Cora, who is Ashley 2.0, and Liam, who seems brutish and ignorant (but has some good moments. I hope he gets better as the game gets further in.) It's just disappointing -- they saw the massive positive response that more complex characters like a quarian engineer and a salarian scientist got -- characters I do think would belong on a mission of this type -- and replaced them with bland soldiers.

The main issue the crew has is that, for being based in your original crew, they cannot hold a candle to them.

Vetra is top-tier hand holding space bird waifu, Jaal is interesting cat squid, Liam is best bro, and Drak is a lot like Wrex but without the "muh genophage" whining.

The rest I don't care about at all, and that says something, but those few were great.

Also, the final mission was full on hype. Everyone you helped, mostly optional characters, show up to help you. That and the music made me actually enjoy it.

I finished the game rushing at 14 hours so that's not bad, but 3 hours of that was grinding fetch quests on Kadara for Vetra's plotline. If you can get it for $40 I'd say go for it. Not worth current price honestly.

No one can be Garrus, it's a fact, around ten of those missing metacritic points could the recovered by adding Garrus and Wrex.

This is what we get when studies decide to make a game, neto rare. I'm guessing everybody just selects the male character because of the horrible awkwardness that is the female protag.
All memes aside the gameplay looks pretty solid.

There are some nice little details in this.

-If you wear a set of N7 Armor (the same Shepard had) people comment on it and how you aren't N7
-Almost every conversation you're in with a romanced partner around will have them say some unique line
-If you invest a lot in biotics people will comment on it

I once had a job where you had no lunch break. You just dealt with it.

Anyway, going through all the stuff I skipped rushing the main story, the Tempest crew is really growing on me. There's a LOT of stuff you can do with all of them, tons of conversations, events that happen. Far more than in any previous Mass Effect. Some of them are forgettable but man, a good part of them feel believable. Their reasons for going to Andromeda, their dreams and motives make sense. Some of the scenes are just really good.

It's a shame the game is plagued with shitty facial animations for humans and asari, and that's all it will be remembered for. There are some good moments in ME:A. I hope they do make a sequel that makes up for all the crap in this one since the potential is there.
Spoiler:
also it's awesome how if you just do the main story and beat the bad guy, finding the homeworld on the way, when you go back and do the sidequests everyone acknowledges it

In soviet england the gulags can work you a solid six hour before having to give you a break, which is only a minimum of 20 minutes.

I don't think it's really legal, but there's not much you can do about it.

The irony is, of course, that such "cost-cutting" measures only end up costing the company more money in the end because of higher sick rates and bigger employee turnover.

As usual with ME's romances, I'm a bit torn between the options. One is Ashley 2.0, and there is nothing funny about her, so in the second conversation already, I stopped flirting with her.
The blueberry has the same issue as every asari, no matter how much you may like them, they're social parasites, they take perfectly viable mates and only produce more blueberries in return.
And Vetra is a Turian, she's mostly bone, claws and fangs, and she may actually choke and die from an allergic reaction from merely a kiss.
I wish I could airlock Gil, meanwhile, while most of the crew are actually very likeable, he's an asshole, plain and simple.
