Wasteland 2: Director's Cut

Improves on some of the gripes I initially had, though your saves are incompatible.

Vermintide is basically like a cross between L4D and Diablo set in the Skaven apocalypse

You run around up to four player co-op fighting shit Might and Magic style on L4D styled level/scenarios. You get loot drops and shit to customize your characters further.

It looks great. I'm installing it now.

EDIT: Servers are currently busted or something. Progress wipe very likely to occur.

It's made by Fatshark, which is kinda cool. Same guys that made War of the Roses.

Usually Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday nights.

Vermintide is pretty rad.

I'm playing as the elf lady and managed to get my hands on a set of dual swords. The ability to just slash everything in a really wide arc in front of me is really handy. With a speed potion I become a skaven blender.

She fucking sucks at everything else though. Her bow does piss all for damage, even if I'm zoomed in headshotting Stormvermin they don't seem to give a rat's ass (HYUCK) that I'm putting arrows right in their fucking eye-socket.

I managed to get another lucky drop and got a bow that shoots special poison arrows. They explode into a cloud of gas on impact and cause a DOT. Unfortunately they:

1) Only seem to apply the DOT to the rat they impact, making them useless against hordes
2) Total overall damage it applies isn't all that high, making them fairly inneffective against the few guys I could headshot with the regular bow
3) Seem to only be good at slaying Rat Ogres. Which is actually pretty fucking helpful so I use them.

Rat ogres are BULLSHIT

There's like...fucking nothing you can do.

You can block them but it obliterates all your stamina. Dodging doesn't actually get you out of range of being hit. Being hit catapults you backwards and often right into a crowd of slave rats.

They're fucking infuriating. They're worse than fighting tanks. I've found the best way to deal with them is to have everyone immediately start trying to scale shit in the environment to get out of their reach and pelt them with ranged attacks. This really doesn't work, since they'll still find a way to climb up to you and punch you into low-orbit.

I want to play Vermintide, and I'll buy it eventually, but I have no idea how bad I'm going to be fucked on shipping prices for my weeb toys this month and so can't justify buying it yet

Won't play Vermintide until there's playable Lizardmen, or someone gifts it to me. Probably the latter.

Witch Hunter is pretty rad. His default ranged weapon is a pair of flintlock pistols he can rapid fire.

By pulling out more of them like a goddamn circus juggler and throwing the empties away.

I doubt it's happening. Lizardmen society is pretty separate from the occasionally-coexisting human/elf/dwarf civilizations.

Also, for fuck's sake, the way characters bitch at you for shooting armored targets and not hitting them in the head. I'M USING A BIG TUBE FILLED WITH BLACK POWDER AND MARBLES. PRECISION IS NOT AN OPTION.

I really like the concept of Empire gun lines, so much that I actually almost started collecting them as a second fantasy army. However the models look like they are wearing some kind of fucking burlap onesie and it was so awful it turned me off the idea entirely. That and WHAT went tits up with the birth of AOS

It wouldn't make sense for them to add a Lizardman, or Ork, or Chaos Warrior, Vampire Count, whatever the fuck...

Why would any of those characters or races care about defending an Imperial city from a horde of Skaven?

Lizardmen and Skaven are ancient enemies, so that sorta makes sense. A single lizardman would never go wandering into the Empire though

It's not just open warfare with the Skaven: the game.

It's about being trapped inside a city while the Skaven go on a rampage and doing your best to survive/help others.

Honestly even in the game the way it is already the Elf is really out of place.

Well maybe Warhammer: Total War will get Lizard DLC.

i recently remembered how much i love Dragon Nest, haven't played since shortly after desert dragon got released for reasons i cant recall. had a capped saint back then but i'm rolling a light bringer now so i can 1) catch up on the story and 2) learn about the new shit assassin brings to the lore

god i forgot how good the story/dialogue is in this game, only thing i can think of besides hitchiker's guide that has made me legitimately heh out loud, and dem lores mang dem lores

I think I played as the Tinkerer. I don't think I made it very far into the game and it was about dec/jan of 2013-2014

i would recommend playing as one of the starting four (sorceress, cleric, warrior or archer) before any of the other classes, both assassin and tinkerer's stories interconnect with the "main" story of the first four in ways that are really interesting but would go over the head of someone starting as one of the latter two classes.

I really want to get this System Shock release on Steam.
I've always wanted to play the original but could never get it to run right.

Videogames aside I"ve been playing a fuckton of board games and card games. Force of Will, Netrunner, Between Two Cities, The Grizzled, Mysterium, Kingdom Death: Monster...

System Shock is fun because if you don't watch out what you do you'll accidentally help SHODAN accomplish her objectives

Building helicopters that work is hard.
Flying helicopters, even if they work, is harder.
Making these helicopters launch shit that impacts reasonably close to its intended target is mildly unpleasant.

Going between Trove and Vermintide just now. That city's gonna need some big cats, given the size of the rats.

I'm really impressed with everything System Shock did at the time that it did it. Holy shit.

Tons of voice-overs, full 3D environments. The weird cyberspace flight tunnel portions are kinda terrible but the rest of the game has a really good balance of spooky and shooty.

I also started playing some of the Doom mod "Demonsteele", which is about being ANIME AS FUCK.

Been playing my childhood game since I was 11, Wurm Unlimited.

Played the MMO when my oldest brother showed it to me, has been the game I grew up with almost for PC.

Rebel Galaxy is a simple game but I guess I needed some stupid 2d pseudospace pew pew. Pretty cheap too.

Been playing KSP again between bouts of ratslaying, having to worry about reentry heat is a pain in the ass but slowly relearning the game after all this time is pretty fun. Just did my first successful orbit, next step is to try and grind out enough science to research enough parts to make a rocket mun-ready

I can get out of the atmosphere pretty reliably but I can never orbit; My kerbals just wind up on one way trips to the edge of the universe

While KSP's tutorials are imperfect at best, they do teach you how to use maneuver nodes to get an orbit done. They should also teach you about gravity turn.

Or you can take the easy way out and automate routine tasks via mechjeb.

It was the only option for some of the more detailed readouts, but now that other mods exist to do that mechjeb is only there to make the game play itself

I can now get an orbit going again but I am having one fuck of a time doing a min flyby in career mode. The one time I did it properly I forgot to add heat shielding and the whole thing blew up on reentry. I have landed on the mun and got back multiple times in previous versions. This shit is insanely hard

aside from picking up my tank that i've left rotting for the past few years, i've decided to get into tribes: ascend and back into Divinity OS since the enhanced version came out. some of my earliest gaming memories are with tribes so this is a blast, i dont think i'll ever get tired of the "byoooon" of the disk guns.

i need to see if there's a sanic mod or something for when you get higher speeds, playing the audio when that happens would be awesome, since i always do it in my head anyway
