So because it makes an annoying noise and mechanoids are absolute hitler in Combat Realism, I took the only rational approach:

The ship part didn't do so well, I had to admit I had to do a slight bit of devmode cheating because an inferno-cannon centipede spawned. The current beta version of CR has a bug where the centipede's armor value is so high that not even the dev-mode kill command can actually kill it, as well the inferno cannon's (a weapon meant more for blasting fire) bugged values can currently cut through several walls of plasteel (strongest vanilla material at 980 hp) in a single shot and usually vaporizes anyone within a 10 mile radius.

I'll take named recruits, only way to change in-game colonists is through a 3rd party tool, which hasn't been updated for like 3 alphas.

Anyway, a siege team came at the same time as a manhunter pack of boars.

Seeing how I've managed a huge surplus of plasteel, probably.

Also, a passing pirate raider ship just ate shit straight into the colony, dropping ordinance into someone's bedroom and exploding everywhere.

Wow, ok then assholes. I didn't get a picture but it was them essentially banging down at the compound wall while everyone else shot at them. The shields didn't do much past delay the inevitable for them.

Also, Robinson and Pharon are lovers now apparently. Andrews even made a special engraved bed to celebrate the occasion.

Luv can bloom in space. Also i am surprised, science grills are usually really mean. I am curious, what traits does Caleb have? I like giving my combat colonists prosthophile and loading them up with sick robo limbs for a huge permanent happiness boost

I didn't really bother touching traits unless they were super shit. Caleb has abrassive, iron-will, and hard worker. So hes an asshole but he works hard.

I set Skorvold out with a targetter to mark the group for artillery. The first shot hit fairly close and knocked quite a few out, but that left the rest really pissed off and with Skorvold in the horizon.

Does Caleb have a scar or missing limb? He seems to be perma damaged

The humerus in his right arm was shattered awhile ago, I haven't bothered to start making bionic limbs as of yet until I get a huge surplus of components.

Are you in A13 or A12? I assume A13 since you have to worry about components but i did not think Combat Realism had been updated yet. If it had i should really start playing again. The ability to make high-end bionics is really awesome

Jokes on you I just got a new recruit.

Landale, now known as Selander, has joined the colony after almost a month of convincing from Pheer. Another prisoner sits in their room from an earlier raid, so its a start to start replacing the gaps.

They do everything okay-ish, except mining and construction. They haven't a fucking clue how to do that.

Anyway, ship research is underway now that we have a multi-analyzer and a surplus of material. I doubt we'll get to ever see Skorvold before the ship is built, but hey, shit happens.

EDIT: Robinson proposed to Pharon, she said no. That was too much for Robinson apparently and went berserk. Andrews incapicated him with a buckshot, how fun.

Pharon is still sleeping in the bed with the lewd engraving, too.

EDIT 2: A lone traveler from a faction came by to chat, talked about some sort of ancient ruins nearby and gave a location. Sent out Pompadour, Selander, and Robinson to check it out. If they're not back in 4-6 days then they're probably dead and the life lesson will be to not trust strangers about strange locations.

Apparently a few of the tribals from the pile got up, most of them were missing both of their arms. So when we went to grab their loot, they'd aggressively shuffle towards the colonists but couldn't actually hit.

I almost feel bad for the savages.

I've gotten about as far as I can with what I currently have installed. Raids are only going to increase in size as it goes and the main goal as is anyway is to get off the planet. Other mods I've been wanting to try out but they require a new colony so, yeah, I'll probably take the ship win when its ready.

If it makes you feel better, I set Skorvold's fire rate to full auto as a last ditch attempt. He sprayed down at least 10 with his AK before overwhelming numbers won out.

As the last of the colony boards into their cryptostatis pods, leaving behind over 2 years of progress. Nanotrasen has probably already long forgotten/replaced you all by now anyway, so its up to whatever shitty AI we installed into the ship to guide us into glory, or into the sun; that's just the gamble you take when you install an AI you found from a rogue ship into your escape vessel.

I'll probably look into another run once CR releases their stable build, which includes all the non-glitchy defensive shit and turrets. Probably get some industrialization mods too so late-game will be based more around maximizing production instead of leaving the planet.

Start plugging any decent A13 mods while you can if you're interested in another run in the future.
