Zelda - SpiderMan's Halitosis Edition

We've all seen the commercial, and my opinion of the game is good. 7~8/10, my issues are they added little to no music and the only mildly hype music is during a boss battle. Nintendo tried to take a page out of shadow of the colossus and pull it off barely, the only way to get your Hearts up is to either kill the four bosses and/or compelete 4 shrines to get anal beads to stuff them up the ass of the goddess herself.

Besides that noise you can scale any wall no matter how vertical it may seem, just climb up until your stamina drains and you fall to your death while escaping pig men because your last weapon broke. Yes that's right; your weapons has durability, very shitty durability at that too. You'll use your weapons for a good 3 maybe 5 minutes tops and then it breaks, so that very kick ass elemental sword you just got? Broke - tought shit fuck you deal with it.

Either way I'm enjoying it, I often play epic western music because there is otherwise no music whatsoever.

I want this game real bad. Is it worth getting for Wii U, or should I hold off since I'm planning on shelling out for a Switch once Mario Odyssey comes out?

It's up to you really, unless there's a very good switch only game coming out (which I think splatoon 2 might be) then I'd just get it now for the pee-u. Unless you'r out of the house long enough to not play a solid few hours of vidya but have plently of down time then I'd get the switch.

And I just checked on mario odyssey, if that's a game you're really itching to play then get the switch because it's switch only.

Probably navigating my way by pure luck to the location of the master sword and subsequently the long journey it took to actually be able to obtain it, it's really well set up and a big moment when you actually get it. Either that or the challenge of visiting Hyrule Castle way earlier than you're meant to for some incredible loot and a memory spot. I spent 3-4 hours fighting my way through there in the middle of the night irl and used up pretty much everything I had and fought some of the toughest enemies in the game I've found so far but it was WORTH for the stuff I walked out with.

It's seriously a really good game, only wish that weapon durability wasn't a thing.

I still can't justify going out and buying a switch without a few more worthwhile titles. However, I can honestly say that this looks like the first truly ambitious and innovative thing Nintendo has done since 2008-ish. Tacking on a shitty gimmick isn't innovation, THIS is innovation.

Now if they could do the same thing to Smash, F-Zero and Stairfax it would be kinda neat.

Dunno what you mean by smash though

@Luke if you can find a wii u used the differences between botw versions is negligible and there's a nice backloag of wii u games

How's the difficulty as a whole? Nintendo went though this weird phase where they were afraid to make anything challenging because "muh children"

It's a lot harder in the beginning cause there's a lot of stuff that'll just own you almost immediately if you're not on point. Late game felt pretty easy though, all the powers, gear and items you get make you almost impossible to kill even against the final boss. I would say on the whole it's not as hard as previous ones but I get the feeling that all Zelda's were that way and I just don't remember cause i was 10 and shit at video games back in the N64 days.

I had been oneshot within my first 5 minutes

It definitely respects your intelligence and expects you to realize what you're doing isn't working, but it's not brutally unfair or anything

The enemies just create natural gating, but if you're hardcore enough you can literally stroll into hyrule castle after starting and beat the game

tldr it's the best kinda difficulty

the wiiu backlog is pretty good so if you can find a used one relatively cheap you're not missing out if you get that version, unless you REALLY want it to be portable

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the better Wii U games got ported over to the Switch. The Wii U sold horrendously meaning that few people already own the games, so that's easy money for Nintendo. Smash bros is supposedly getting ported over as it is.

Speaking of the portable bit, Nintendo would be much better off if they just went ahead and marketed the Switch as a gaming tablet. That's basically what it is, and that market has much less competition.

actually I said "fuck it" and walked in, glad I did tbh

so apparently (not a spoiler for the castle)
Spoiler:
one of the 4 powers you get from the divine beasts is an ezmode counter
I hadn't done that one or the one on death mountain, I walked in the castle, smacked some guardians, walked into the throne room and
Spoiler:
it made me fight the two bosses I skipped which was genuis
then
Spoiler:
dropped down, they did the laser meme, it took 1/4th of ganon's hp because 2/4 etc. etc.
I'm really glad I skipped some of the stuff and went straight in because it was just a genuinely enjoyable challenge
Spoiler:
there's a point where ganon can't be attacked unless you counter and I had never bothered learning so it was a trial by fire but it was way more satisfying to snatch the win than to let the ez mode bs do it for me
if you're at all competent at games don't be afraid to take ganon on early
Spoiler:
I had 13-14 hearts, 3 stamina upgrades, the master sword, and the armor I had used all game (climbing bandana, champ's tunic, hylian pants) upgraded like twice, walked in with a few pages of food and only used a bit of it
fucking 11/10 game and now I wanna make a new file and try to treebranch ganon to death

technically you can emulate it with CEMU but I'm really unsure about recommending that (when it becomes actually playablie, I mean, it's not even close as is)

like, emulating dead systems is cool and I'm a fan, I use Dolphin specifically a ton, but when you're emulating a game that you could walk down to the store and buy it's just turning into piracy and that's a little strange to consider

(yes you could argue emulating older titles that are on virtual console/whatever is also piracy or that emulation in general is piracy BLAH BLAH no one cares I'm just talking about this specific case)

Plus it's not even working fully on CEMU. I think it gets like 15 FPS right now.

I'm doing the challenge run where you just complete the tutorial and storm Hyrule castle right from the start and I've fucking reached Ganon's chamber. Took a few attempts to cross Hyrule Field without getting spotted and death beamed but eventually got inside the castle via boat. Had to fight black moblins with a bunch of fuckin sticks to try and steal their weapons and some planks for a shield that break in one hit. Coincidentally Link also breaks in one hit when he only has 4 hearts and a t-shirt what do you know.

Took a lot of creative sneaking, climbing, gliding and running/fighting for my damn life to get around all the death laser guardians, moblins and purple goo. As well as avoiding the fights with the Lynel's cause fuck that shit I don't have the weapons (or health) to fight them AND Ganon. Suffice to say I got pretty good at parrying guardians. It's getting late so I don't have time to try out the boss fight gauntlet, I know that every boss you haven't beaten yet shows up as well which happens to be every single one of them so I'm not sure if it's even going to be possible given that they could probably just breath in my direction and I'll fall over dead. But hell it's great fun I can recommend it to anyone who's beaten the game and is looking for a challenge. I just wish there was a death counter somewhere.

Potato picture of me in the end game room, nothing spoilery at all but it is the end game room if that matters to you.
