also the priest in his nightmares only diddled his little girl friend but the priest didnt want to fuck a little boy, -1 for no realism

I dunno, I heard shitloads about outlast 1 and played it myself as well as the DLC. It was good, but I heard they made the parts where you are getting stalked by enemies even harder and more frustrating in the sequel which has discouraged me from buying it. The first game was at its absolute fucking worst when you just kept dying in the same spot and had to trial and error past. Nothing removes the scare factor quite like dying repeatedly and having to repeat sections while pissed off, and apparently that is most of this game

The stuff with Jessica and louth really disturbed me.

I recommend reading the comic books for a better understanding.

The religious, sexual, and cult context definitely hit a nerve with me. I was on edge when Val holds you down, and my nerves rattled when I saw what was occurring with Lynn.

Val is the heretics leader. She (theories float that she's intersex) holds you down and rapes you during the orgy where she is covered in mud.
They chained Lynn up to position her ready to give birth.

She's murdered by Knoth's cultists when they raid the mines.

The notes where Jessica explains her jealousy of Blake and Lynn.
Her problems at home (broken home, drunk father).
Being targetted by Louth because she was vulnerable.
And to sum it up, how Blake was pushed away and wasn't there when Jessica needed him most.
And when Blake rescues Jessica after she was pushed down the stairs was little too late.
The guilt he carries that he never told anyone, and how broken she was to the point of suicide.
It just hit a soft spot with me.
