you ever hear of wurm online? sandbox mmo where literally everything except the spawn is created by players, including terraforming, roads, towns, farms, mines, etc. etc.? it's also really slow and grindy and requires a sub to get past level 20 in skills

well fuck that just play wurm unlimited, you get:

• no sub required, buy once and you have access to everything since it's just a traditional game
• mod support
• the ability to play singleplayer, host private servers, or connect to dedicated servers
• everything that's in the mmo (sometimes they can be behind on bringing new patches from the mmo but who cares)
• custom map support
• the ability to change XP rates and action timers
• the ability to disable building decay/deed costs

this game is fucking god tier and if you didn't like wurm because of the sub/timesink/etc. this is the game for you

if anyone owns this and would be interested in a tgstation server fucking let me know because there is nothing i want in life more than to play this fucking game with people and all of the friends i bought it for are turdwheels who want to play normie bait like pubg or something

EDIT: how 2 play

step 1:

buy/install wurm unlimited on steam

as of the 9th the server is running the beta client for some reason, so change to the beta branch on steam

change your name on the launcher/settings if you want

connect to mythmoor prime, it usually has the most players online

step 2:

learn how to navigate using a map or you're going to have trouble with your life

we have a deed now so I can teleport you, hit any of the wurm players up on the discord and they can add you to the village, which gives you a one time teleport

protips:

if there's a guard tower nearby and something is killing you, type "guards!" in local chat and they'll help you - most deeds have a guard that will respond automatically as well

if you're lost but near a property, examine the ground and it'll say if you're on a deed, which you can search up on the map

if you drop your tent you can respawn at it and no one else can take shit from inside it

building fuck off huge houses and shit is a good way to get burnt out

focusing on leveling up your skills or making products to sell is a much better long term strategy and more interesting than making a 50x50 house

looking through the massive amount of cosmetic items to make your house pretty is also a good idea

we also have very little space - xhagi's house isn't even on the deed right now, and we're going to have to pay upkeep soon, so unless people get silver to expand the deed we're not going to have much space left on it - you can build next to the deed, but you'll have to put locks on your shit and deal with building decay

tl;dr just make a nice house for yourself and look through the skills to see what sounds interesting, don't go into this like minecraft where you need some giant project to stay entertained because that fucks up our limited space and results in "now what" sydrome

Wurm is nice, but at this point I just can't get over the whole java thing
If they port the whole thing to a new, better engine, then I'll play

i've never bothered doing this before due to a lack of audience so yeah

even if it's just me and rustled we can just join a public server in order to have people to interact with, so I can for sure take pics

what's going on it's ~YA BOI~ qbopper, back with another epic wurm unlimited unboxing, this time starring nilons

we joined mythmoor prime because it has a lot of people on it

I connected and spawned in... not the spawn town, because I had played on this server for a second before



I was also poisoned and had to get into this big as fuck castle to meet nilons so i killed myself



instead of going to heaven, i was greeted by nilons who looks like oldman



nilons met a ghost



after that, we headed out of spawn to find somewhere to settle - nilons rightclicked on a bridge and smashed it with his shovel



he also broke something



you'll note that number is in scientific notation for some goddamn reason after stumbling down the hill for a bit looking for the main road, we found an abandoned house with cotton lying around - knowing we would need something for bandages I suggested we take it



nilons does something hilarious that i'm not going to bother zooming in on

we walked around for a little bit when suddenly I heard a skittering

nilons had no idea, but even without looking, I shouted "RUN"



we shit ourselves and ran, and just as we fled to a town, I noticed a bear had joined the pile



I checked nilons wounds, but thankfully he had only gotten away with a small bite, also he said xd again



we walked through town as I checked the map and nilons stared at lara croft tits



we continued through town, and got scared by some bees



at this point nilons had to go, so we stopped at the next town

we also saw an animal rights violation





we started off to the east (off the image), and reached 'Colovian Harbor' when we escaped from the spider/bear

we decided to settle around where my cursor is on the image - we're going to continue in a day or two

i forgot to take pictures and i'm tired but i can add a shit load more pics/details to the next update if people like

when we get the town settled, people can get a one time teleport to the village, so if you're interested in joining you won't have to take one of these meme journeys which are a pain if you're brand new

the lighting in this game is super fucking impressive considering the game is from 2006, coloured lights work, dynamic lights on players if you have a lantern - some of the vistas on high are gneuinely good looking

it isn't well optimized and the textures can have a wild range in quality, the animations suck and the combat is really fucking strange, but goddamn this game is so good anyways

we log back in and nilons "xd"s



this is no longer relevant, but we decide to head west of elyria, cut across the forest, then back onto the road and get to our destination

this didn't happen



so we do that







we get to the road, but I realize that someone is likely settling the spot we were headed to, so we head north to a nearby rock face



nilons gets lost like a retard but we find eachother again





arriving at the site, we noticed some pigs and a cow



we fucking murder the pigs



I begin to teach nilons how to play - we chop down a tree







I tell nilons how to saw planks, and he is immediately floored by how big the saw is



we need iron to get a house started, but we don't have the digging skill to create a mine yet, so we just dig a hole and refill it for a minute or two to get some ez levels
