It's...Interesting.
I'd recommend watching some videos of it first to see if it's something you'd like. It has a big random element to it that doesn't seem to work that well for many people
But since this is a community around SS13, I'd assume people are used to random shit happening and backfiring

They can play with eachother, it's essentially just the same game
nsos wrote:i really wish i saw your post before i bought chaos edition

whats even the difference between the two
..But the only difference is that chaos edition gets a few more team choices, and some extra graphics stuff in terms of stadiums.
It's essentially the same game as a standalone, but with an expansion(3? new teams and some graphic packs) added on
That's about it from what I know

I figured it out and the game actually does count, I just had to go into league management and approve the game results

But yeah, lets cancel the league we have going and then we can start a new one with everyone who picked it up during the sale and is interested in joining

Yeah the whole set matches thing is because you have it set to Cup mode and not open season.

I'm not sure how to wrangle it around so you can have a season and then a cup tournament at the end of it.

Fuck it, making it early. info in first post

I think I got it right this time. It's not a cup, so we should be able to just play

So that's a new league, and people will need to apply to it again if you already applied to the other one

You basically just go into the online mode, and make a team(I guess you could offline it too, but that's less fun)
Then select which one you want to be, customize your colour and logo(Do this after selecting race), and fill in a name

Then after that, you get to pick players. You need at least 11, but more is allowed too. You'll have a few special positions which are limited but very useful, and you can grab up to 16 basic linemen zombies/skeletons/whatever
Give them a name as you buy them(Optional but very recommended), and buy a few rerolls because you will roll a critfail at some point.
You can level up, buy more players or rerolls, or just about anything you do here later after the team started.
No renaming your players though

Edit: Also an award to An0n3 for best team theme

OP has a league in it. It's teeny tiny right now. If you join it and send friend requests to the other people in it you can probably work something out.

That had to be one of the bloodiest matches I have ever had. Elf thrower throws a block against an ogre chooses both down. Ogre gets badly hurt Elf thrower just gets knocked down.

Yesterday I played dark elves around a team value of 2000 against khemri around 2000.

Those dark elves are no longer anywhere near 2000. At the end of the match, only 2 of them were still on the field. And neither of them were standing

Khemri are one of the hardest hitting teams in the game. Four Tomb Guardians is goddamn brutal. Unlike Ogres they don't have any negative traits, and the team around them is usually more proficient than just a bunch of halflings.

Chaos (and other teams with access to the mutations skill list) are potentially on another tier beyond Khemri in terms of murderlizing the fuck out of your guys because you can be a real fucking jerk and just build hordes of claws + mighty blow dudes running amok. 8AV? Nah, looks like a 6 to me.

The issue is that while Khemri do fall off compared to chaos and have a bad game, they basically exist to knock other people out of the game pretty early. They have a low chance of winning themselves but absolutely nuke the chances of someone else from orbit. Playing Khemri more than once early in the league basically is the worst feeling ever, as their 'weakness' of easier injuries will neither be in effect nor be easy to trigger with their high armor and no skills.

Khemri aren't useless at ballhandling. They've got positionals that can do the work it's just that everyone on the team is so fucking slow compared to other teams you'll get the shit blitzed out of you if you do anything but commence the slow mummy crawl up the pitch with the ball.

One of the things I like most about elves is that even if they only have two people on the field they can still score and win the game. I think too many hitting teams focus on that killing game and forget about the ball and end zones. For my money on of the best hitting teams with winning potential is just straight Undead. They have the hard hitting mummies with no negative traits like the tomb kings, and they have the positional players that can back them up. Ghouls and Wrights have the AG 3 coupled with high AV values you have the ability to grind your opponent into the ground and still win the game.

Re: Bloodbowl

Ball handling is different than throwing. The game is more based on rugby than American football. Passing teams are rare and the focus is more on a strong running game. Being a good passing team is hard, many people think elves default to it but the actual chances of catching a pass as an elf without dedicated team members for it is really poor at any significant distance, causing default elves to be great at running, picking up balls, and dodging, but only suited towards short passes. Instead throwers tend to be used in the same way a kicker would be used in rugby on teams without dedicated catching elements. They are pinch players mostly in the back who rush to the ball if it is in the danger zone and just try to get it as far away from your own endzone as possible.

Am I ever going to get a game in by the way?

Sorry, I only got through pre-med before dropping out.

But seriously, being good at running and short passes is very different than throwing. An elf lineman catching a ball from a thrower at long range only has a 37% chance to actually get that ball with no re-rolls. A catcher has a better chance but is a specialist unit. Throwing teams, even among races that are throwing races, are special and don't tend to depend on passing, the units involved are generally vulnerable.

Also, the league would be good, if people could actually play their matches
(Hint hint)
Spoiler:

But yeah, the best throwing I've seen done is not with the ball being thrown, but rather an ogre or troll throwing a snotling or goblin that holds the ball and then having them run for it.
Also, my 5ag dark elves are decent at long passes, but a a rule, I still don't pass unless I have to
