Bottom post of the previous page:

yo legit if I had to live knowing that the devs of the game actually implemented a force-override to give themselves admin powers to any server without exception I'd probably be a loose cannon too
I'm an ex-coder for /tg/. I made the original versions of clockcult, shadowlings, revenants, His Grace, and other stuff.
I don't play, code, or participate in the community, but I occasionally post dumb stuff in the hut.

It'a great when people RP though.

popnotes has been getting angry about the # of people on the server and others have been getting frustrated at how some specific players show no regard for others and will fucking murder you because lol XDDDD

killing scientists as CI/d class as NTF is directly harmful to your chances of success anyways (unless you let them escape fully in which case u a dumby)

killing the opposite faction with no prompting as soon as you see them is kinda unfun for the people who don't have guns and if you don't see why that isn't even remotely frustrating for the people on the receiving end you maybe should take a break anyways

anyways like i said popnotes has wanted to cut down the player numbers anyways and kicking people who are notorious for unfun play is a side effect of that

i'm not the admin so don't take it up with me but i don't think many people will cry over banning the people who like to kill everyone to collect useless keycards

>dont have guns
pop himself killed me with a micro hd
even if he didnt, there have been multiple instances where i try to hostage-escort people out only for them to either
a) whip out a gun and kill me when i try to cuff/talk
b) close doors on me while running from scp's
c) find an opposing mtf/ci group and run to them yelling to kill me

so ive learned that in most cases i should just do my objectives, which again, ARE OUTLINED IN BIG LETTERS EACH TIME YOU SPAWN

and if you wanna talk about unfun behavior we should discuss the round where i was larry and popnotes and i were the last two, yet i had to chase him up and down the surface level for a solid 5+ minutes until a new mtf spawned because, and i quote, "my pride wont let me die"

this along with many other instances of double standards or outright hypocrisy (that im sure ill have to remind people of if the discussion continues) have just lead to solidify my first impression of popnotes being a bit of a twat. im not saying im perfect myself but its irritating when people in the "original community" get a free pass to do things but when i do them its a bannable offense.

Honestly, if that's the way this is meant to play out its retarded. Asking people to arbitrarily pull punches for people is dumb. This is especially true in a game where groups are supposedly meant to be hostile to each other.

Re: scp: secret laboratory

if you're talking about d-classes and scientists there is a massive difference between "give me that item I need to escape or i'll kill you for it" and "lol i'm going to execute everyone that spawned down here with the excuse that i am collecting keycards despite already having a full access one"

one is interesting conflict "in character" (which i use very loosely) and the other is just killing everyone to be a fucking douchebag

i don't even think you've ever played with us before, if you had you would have known how fucking irritating it is to finally get to play in a new round only for some douche who managed to get a good rng roll and find a gun in a cabinet to shoot you for no real reason

to put it in ss13 terms, this would be like if you were captain and killed every non sec/head player because you wanted to "collect their IDs" - you do not need the IDs, you're being a turbodouche with no regard for the others in the round, and if you did that on /tg/station you would eat a ban, so I can't blame popnotes for that

if you're talking about the ntf or whatever shit then that's a different issue - imo playing to "win" this game will be the death of it because when you are an scp/ntf/ci you have 100% of the power in the situation and there is nearly no chance the scientists or d-class can do anything, hence why i figure the people playing it frown upon just doming people on sight, because it's frankly uninteresting (and pretty objectively a bad idea when you can use the d boy/scientists as scp bait, or even force them to stand in the femur breaker to contain the old man)

there's also a MASSIVE difference between the NTF at roundstart killing d-class on sight and the late spawning CI killing the one scientist camping the bottom of the facility and delaying the entire round and acting liek that isn';t the case is arguing in poor faith

i don't know if cedar has even played the game though

I don't think the problem was so much just the shooting of the scientist in that video: I think it was more that you were "roleplaying" immediately while an SCP was attacking all of you, thereby leading to the death of everyone since everybody was focused on not being shot by you. Qboppers reaction is definitely appropriate.

I don't really have a problem with you playing, but I can understand why other people got mad tbh.

the duality of playing scp is intense guilt when you are clearly terrified and utter hilarity because you're completely terrified

Does anyone else have problems getting this game running properly? I am getting downright unplayable (less than 10, and very jittery even at 20-30) frame rates even in the tutorials. It pegs my GPU at 100%, and I am running a 1080 Ti.

yeah gun hog i had similar issues it's optimized like shit, unironically lower your resolution and make sure youre running stable and your framerate issues will become tolerable. It used 100% of my gpu until I stopped it from trying to constantly downscale the game to 1920x1080. Now it still uses 60% of my gpu but that's much more reasonable .

Apparently 079 is making a return and has been reworked and playable the private beta.

It's hard to get info on it as the only videos I can find on it are in languages I can't understand but from what I can gather, 079 is now a progress based SCP who gains experience from other people's deaths it either caused or had a hand in. It also has a map of the facility, making it a very good coordinator for the other SCPs.
With enough experience, it gains new abilities and becomes more powerful and deadly over time.

Though people can tell if you're there now as the cameras in the room turn blue and can see where you're looking.
