Are you assigning additional nurses to wards? I usually put in at least 2 each, 3 if it is particularly busy. I never get issues with them, my bottleneck with wards are usually the changing screens.
Are just using one giant ward? It might be worth splitting It up into smaller rooms. Perhaps having a giant ward staffed with 5 nurses may be too much for the AI to handle, especially if your bottleneck is the door of all things. My hospitals tend to have 2-3 wards of 6ish beds, depending on the Hospital

I’ve learned the value of having a good diagnosis team and equipment. Training up a team of doctors and nurses specializing in GP/Diagnosis skills is really effective in cutting repeat GP office visits. Way more effective than spamming low level GP rooms, and it relieves congestion in the hallways

I figured out the solution to the GP pileup - space your diagnosis rooms. The way diagnosis flow in this one works, it's GP's Office > Diagnosis > GP's Office > Further Diagnosis > GP's Office > More Diagnosis > GP's Office > Treatment. Essentially they visit the GP's office between every attempted diagnosis until a satisfactory level is reached to send them for treatment. This leads to massive queues for the GP's office as every patient is coming back for a progress report and their next assignment, and mood quickly drops out of boredom or overcrowding for the snack machines/bathrooms.

The fix is pretty easy, if unintuitive - just put your diagnosis rooms (General Diagnosis, Fluid Sampler, etc) a ways away from where you've set up your GPs. I keep my GP offices in one building and the nurse-run diagnosis rooms in another, and the ward somewhere else by itself, with psychiatry getting its own area too. Doubling up general diagnosis and psych can be useful, cardio doesn't usually need more than one though. The goal is to make it so patients have to walk a bit between GP/diagnosis, so less of them line up outside the GP at one time. Shorter queues mean happier patients, even if they spend a bit of time walking between buildings.

Doesn't the way queues work in the game get in the way?

I believe patients don't queue up when they arrive at the destination, but rather when they are assigned. So you can end up with 4 patients in queue waiting for the next in line which so happens to be stuck in the cafe eating a long meal on the other side of the hospital

I mix GPs and diagnosis together, with treatments and other hospital functions in the far back. Also, coffee in every valid room because it speeds up your workers. I just unlocked the caffinated drink vendor, so hopefully I can get a similar effect for the patients.

I usually don't have more than 6 GPs, but I also don't go for 3-stars. I just do 2 and move on. I'm currently on the volcano beach level.

Turns out, complaining and refusing to buy anything with horrible DRM works
Pirates cracking the anti-piracy before the game's official release probably also helped and shows how futile it is to even spend money on that shit, like come on, it wasn't even out yet when it was unlocked

They do look like denim. Maybe your graphics settings are too low to see it.

I made it to the Capital region, and Nurses have about 5 diagnosis jobs. General, cardio, fluid, Ward, and maybe another I'm forgetting? Might actually just be 4.

You don't have to use plants, but they have a good size AOE but need maintenance. I use Yuccas instead, though. Slightly smaller AOE, but requires less water. For the most part I use the Giant/Indoor fountains as the AOEs are enough for entire hallways and they need no maintenance.

I think the game prioritises the more effective diagnosis rooms first, which basically means the more high-tech ones. I usually build these first, avoiding the ones that need special skills as long as I can because I don't want to have to hire/train specialists until later.

Mid-late game I have something like 25 doctors, 15 nurses, 5 assistants, 25 janitors. This is from one mission that requires having a high Attractiveness % along with regular natural disasters.

Who is the best radio host and why is it Nigel Bigglesworth?

Seriously the radio is great, and even the hosts acknowledge how mind numbing the music can be

Well, I think I'm done with the game. The final level is a comfy sandbox level with A LOT of room to build.

I left it as this 2-star hospital. The 1-star was built well enough that I just let the game run on fast forward to get to 2-star. I'd probably have to build some more diagnosis to get to 3 but I'm happy where it is now.

So all the complaints about there not being a sandbox

It's there at the very end?

Well, all levels are already sandboxes, most of them just focus on a specific element of the game

Croquembouche is just ideal because
- it is Huge. If I zoomed out I could see I only occupy about 20% of the whole map.
- All illnesses appear
- You should have all the important stuff unlocked by this point
- All random events (Except socialism) appear with higher frequency. I once had 3 VIPs at the same time. Disasters and epidemics are rare, though
- No specific focus, your objectives are simply "Git Gud" as you can see from my screenshot

Getting an epidemic on Croquembouche is a fucking nightmare holy shit. Finding a needle in a haystack.

Check to see if that's not just because you have the JumboCorp CEO visiting. He's an ass and should be watched like a hawk

So this thing is out
https://store.steampowered.com/app/8683 ... _Hospital/

It's more serious, loads of detail..And a fair amount of bugs still
A little rough around the edges but it seems nice

Its definitely more my thing compared to 2-point. Way more management and detail, none of the silly humour. You can diagnose the patients yourself and choose their treatment. Could use some more departments and the character animations are a little robotic, but its really fun. Hopefully they work on the camera a bit and allow you to change your camera angle, but its not a big deal, at least for me. Large hospitals are laggy as fuck.

Great game. Hope it gets some DLC/expansions.

They're even both trying to remake an old game, one 3D, minimal management and buggy, the other sprite based with janky animations, maximum management and buggy... I don't think Xenonauts let you change the camera angle either.

I- I think I'm seeing the matrix.

Eh i really like the sprite-based isometric style of Project Hospital. Animations are not great, but for the deeper, slower management sim ive always wanted, i can live with it. The devs are also fairly active with bug fixing. 4 patches so far, and its only been a week or so since release. My biggest gripe with the game is the annoying building system, which is being fixed eventually. Everyone also hate the lack of camera angles, but that is also getting added at some point, allegedly.

A little disappointed that the devs chose to go with a more family-friendly style. They confirmed that they would not be adding any kind of lethal diseases or cancer, nor anything to do with children. I wouldve loved to have a paternity ward & oncology department. Along with a Morgue that doctors can use to improve their diagnosis skills. There also seems to be very little punishment for getting a wrong diagnosis, so some kind of malpractise mechanic would be nice for the challenge.

Nah, Project Hospital can exist alongside Two Point

2-point is for the gamey fun hospital gameplay
Project Hospital is for realistic hospital management and full 100% costumization of everything. Kind of sucks they're not going 100% realism with cancers and stuff, but I guess that's alright, there's a load of diseases in it already
Different target audiences, though they do have some overlap

The 'Xcom'/Xenonauts thing was very different, Xenonauts tried to be X-com and did well. 'Xcom' tried to be a really mediocre turn based tactical game using its name to drive sales
And as usual, marketing matters more than content. Thankfully Two-point hospital had the content to back up their hype

I don't know, I kinda liked the new XCOMs
that being said, it's probably because I broke the original too quickly
