Not playing antibirth because I don't want my mind to adapt to a bunch of new stuff that will become irrelevant less than two weeks later.

It's kinda funny, the same thing happened before afterbirth. A long dev'd community mod is released a couple weeks before the DLC because the devs realized that once the DLC hits the mod will be dropped.

The alt floors, bosses, and music in Antibirth are absolutely incredible. Downpour is miles better than Flooded Caves.

I just bought Rebirth + Afterbirth. Played 30 minutes, finished a Mom run on a first go (which seems easy as fuck compared to original), but the low pixeled resolution and swaying camera gave me eye cancer and motion sickness so I think I'm gonna refund it. I'm getting too old for them shmups.

Before you do, try playing on windowed, go to options, disable "active cam" and turn filter on. Might help you.

bent straw, from first glance, appears to be magic fingers except it recharges over 10 seconds and is free. but it changes your sprite so I dunno

it was probably easier because it was literally easier.
you have to beat mom a few times and get the "Everything just got harder!" popup, which you no doubt did in the original isaac *years* ago (thus forgetting, and having it for 99% of your isaac career)
also play hardmode instead of babbu mode, that'd help.

just got afterbirth+ and tried the new character
found a busted strat where if you use void on teleport, then when you use void on passive items to gain the stat buffs, the items dont respawn, essentially meaning you can get as many stat buffs as you want provided you have a method to recharge void. i got the battery dropping familiar and moms knife in the same run and tore through cathedral, mega satan, etc

There's a new version of the big circle poop that spawns those horrible blue chargers, and it starts with like 10 already spawned.

These devs just want people to hate them.

Afterbirth+ made the game even worse, 2017 has only just begun and we've already got a strong contender for the biggest disappointment of the year. It actually permanently punishes you for resetting too much.
At least Apollyon is pretty cool.

Too much resetting unlocks the half soul hearts, which have a chance to replace full soul hearts. Even worse, you need to unlock them for 100% completion.

I've actually been enjoying it believe it or not. I was surprised to see so many people bitching about portals. Just get good and shoot them, they don't even move
The modding tools seem pretty robust too, been looking in to how to write in lua so I can make some shit
