hi tg friends! last year me and 3 friends had a project for school where we had to work on a prototype for a puzzle adventure game for six weeks, we decided to make a game inspired by Half-Life and Portal in which you can move around cables to try and progress through the levels. The game is free to play and rather short, and also lacks art (as the prototype was made by just designers aka no artists or programmers). I intend to make this into a full product at some point so if you guys have some feedback feel free to post it here.

also yes i know theres some bugs and i know the cables are fucked at times but oh well its a prototype :P

"what if we made that one sequence in half life 2 into a whole game"
looks pretty cool, good work

Makes me think of Take On Mars' flailing tentacles of doom (the really stiff power cables that would often spazz out and whack you, sometimes hard enough to go on a ballistic trajectory.)

lmao yeah I spent so much time trying to make our cables work out, I ended up giving up and removing their collision for most things because of the headaches it causes me. thing i learned: noone has really figured out how to make cables in games yet

The battery part was kinda neat. Could be a fun concept for a longer game.

Thanks! I'm working on a re-make. My only worry is that cables are still a difficult thing, and no engine has really figured it out. I tried using Nvidia Flex but that doesnt really pull on objects that are attached to it properly.

so now Im thinking, maybe replace the cables with like, particle beams, and make it more like they're connected by some energy beam / magnetic force. smh I wish I could just use normal cables, though.
