Access to a mage without using a recruitment turn in a fort can be good no matter what nation you are. That and your units are terrible.

Oh no mine are worse. Maybe if I'd been able to design my own pretender, but if ifs and buts were tits and butts. We're pretty lucky in this game actually, mostly just low tier nations except Agartha, and he screwed the pooch anyway.

agartha is only non low tier at around turns 22-26~

agartha can then eat someone up entirely with their magic spike and hopefully use that advantage to tech up to late game spells. if they fail to do that they're donezo, may as well concede, they will achieve nothing with their piss poor units without any real advantages late game.

That's not true, they can turtle in their caves until they hit lategame, then break the seal and make life miserable for everyone for a little while, then lose the game anyway

Turtle in my cave? Maybe if I started in one sure. This map was kinda jank for me.

Frankly I know the optimal agartha stategy is to spam summons and blast (well the best spells they are likely to access are alteration so not much blast other than blade wind) with mages.
My whole thing with agartha is playing with their sub par units and seeing if I can work out something against the conventional wisdom.

Edit: Oh and yes I know about utterdark and burden of time. Both traps no one will let me keep up and my oracles are old anyway.

this is the meme king build for memers.

you can change L2D2 to L3D3 but i fucking hate rng and the damper on research sucks dingalingadongs so i dont do it.

you expand using frost giants and mass bless and they regenerate literally more health than the strongest indies can deal whilst dealing cold aoe damage because FUCK your face.

Late game you can transition to giant spam/thug fest if you really want. I dont really enjoy building a pretender that fills your weaknesses for Neifelheim. Abuse the fact that you have stupid early game and literally nobody can stand up to you. In terms of late game national spells you have one: Illwinter. Which is castabable by a jotun skratti with boosters. There's also one of your hero who has A4 which is helpful as shit to craft items. Your pretender could be used for all these things, but then you wouldn't have unkillable giants and why wouldn't you want that you IDIOOOOOOOOOT.

Revealing my pretender would tip my hand too much. I have made a few non-standard choices, though I am sure if you reverse engineer my pretender titles you could figure out a few of my magic paths.

Also, as the god of unnatural lust I demand you draw out foreplay and get really weird. Work vine shields and magic skulls into it!

That said, Agartha - Nice attempt, but it was sadly too late. I do believe your early game was the issue here, as I thought a few times I'd be pretty screwed if you had a bigger force. But then you didn't seem to have that

The independents were overly beefy next to my capital and I attacked them too soon suffering unsustainable losses to my first army.

Sort of problem you don't have with an awake pretender but eh, gonna make what I want work or else. Was a fun little war liked the part were I almost took your fort.
