If you guys liked their other two campaigns (I loved Dragonfall, clearly) they have a kickstarter up for you to place your pledge pre-order.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/we ... -hong-kong

For the record if you didn't read the actual page the kickstarter is only for creating additional content and to cover publishing fees, not for actually making the game.

I am really interested in that rat shaman, since there appear to be some signs of her being a toxic mage. The ghoul ex security guard seems pretty cool as well.

Hah, too much to do this week. I have a ten day working week, as well as D&D and tales from the borderlands ep 4.
I might actually get a chance to play this next week some time

So what's new in this one? When I was checking it out, the party members looked kinda generic, and maybe I'm just bad but 'Hong Kong' is a little less descriptive than 'Dragonfall'.

I reeeally got tired of the uncancelable tactical move thing that forces me to manually move my dudes -and- watch them cross the map before I move the next guy. It's especially annoying when I have to hunt the map to find the last dude I missed or whatever.

I'm having fun with it, looks really pretty but I haven't gotten far enough to get a real opinion.

It's been pretty fun, despite getting irreparably stuck in a mission when the event triggers messed up and the meeting with some other runners triggered twice and they got stuck on the other side of a door. Reloading and not triggering the alarm seems to be the only way to not glitch out the mission.

but hey at least I got to meet Opti

Fun so far have magical sordz for my adept man this time makes me happier than just being a sub par street sam.

Seems to be a bit more damage flying around than dragonfall so whoop up goes the dodge, bod and a little heal spell and medkits on top not that there is much point starting deep into qi at the start takes a few missions for that shit to even be on sale. More opportunities to actually use the decker I brought along rather than just staring at a computer with them in the same drat room.

Most kinks seem menu based like accidentally moving when I access the stash and the character creation limit lines staying all game despite being able to go past them.

Hate the new matrix though already the windows to get past some parts of the detection stage are ridiculously tight usually need to kill at least one seeker. Especially dislike the number matching first half of hacking I mean I get it is probably a colour-blind consideration but white numbers flashing white with maybe my near white cursor on top of them if I wasn't paying attention gets annoying.

I still have no idea how blocker IC hacking works. Mainly because I think I set it to skip tutorials at some point so I just click on things after the pattern matching until I win.

From what I understand you play Simon with the keypad for a bit and the more dots you light up the more time you get to match the big mess of symbols. Not super hard really.

Rat girl tells me the tale of setting her runner team on fire at 16 to skip out of a failed run in the evacuation getting cookies, riding in the fire engine and datinga fireman with ambiguous amounts of embellishment.

Good game already.

Climatic scene making decision to execute the prisioner. The shot rings a little "missed" rises above their head as they drop to the floor oh I wish I caught that.

I got stupidly unlucky and managed to have my Trace build up and trigger an alarm because I missed the same IC three times in a row, which triggered the alarm. Shrugged and decided to just go with it.

Strangely enough going in guns-blazing from the first floor is also another way to avoid the game-breaking bug.

Was forced to kill a reluctant guard because despite repeatedly talking to the magic vendor her dialogue never progressed past a certain point where she sends emails and if I didn't all out attack the poor guy I would have the option to say I know the nature of the big bad greyed out and if I spared him after that he would have no dialogue left and I couldn't choose to open fire on him otherwise... but hey the solution was violence.
Probably going to be patches for some of this but I had to do straight gog downloaded because galaxy refuses to start the download on its own so manual patching woo.

Edit: Finished the game a fully satisfactory experience other than white on white simon seyz one point during a mission the eye strain of looking at that got irritating.

It's pretty good on it's own, but it falls just short of where Dragonfall is, imo

The levels felt shorter with fewer decisions to be made, and I wasn't as attached to the story and characters as I was with Dragonfall.

In contrast to Incomptinence's opinion, I felt the revamped matrix by far more fun and engaging than the old one was. Hacking was fun, too, when it wasn't bugging out on me and causing me to fail

Oh I didn't prefer the old matrix per se I just barely used it. Needing to bring the decker rigger just in case all the time and then I get to a some datajacking check I can't make for something and he won't do it for me unless it is mission critical pissed me right off.
Is0bel 10/10 decker buddy would have help me steal paydata from a random computer again.

Aaaaaand gog galaxy is totally nonfunctional for whatever fucking reason cueing downloads "getting file list" for eternity and forgetting my gog folder when I first opened it to try and update this aaaaaaand the only option to get the update to 3.10 directly looks like a FULL GAME DOWNLOAD all over again. Thanks galaxy literally a step backwards from gog downloader.

There's a character named "Isane Konnair" in one of the missions.

Suffice to say I could not allow her to live.

He must have paid $1000+ for a self-insert kickstarter reward

Now I really wish I did take screenshots of me killing her

Heh. I haven't gotten it yet, and now I'm kinda feeling "eh" about it now.

... fuck it I'll stop being a bitch because It looks like a good game and I can always just kill this character it sounds like.

Of course, I feel like I want to be a douchebag and name a player character "hung lo".

who the fuck is Isane? Because depending on the answer, when I decide to tackle the expansion, I may shoot on sight (and I minmaxed my elf so she could both bullshit her way to victory, or pull a bigass gun and kill tons o' people with it

shooting on sight it is. Reminds me of that aberration you could find in Undertale, the one character you can kill without ruining the true ending. One dude pulling four numbers to get self-inserted in a game.

I was losing a bit of faith with Hong Kong main campaign's missions, but the extended campaign makes up for it. It's just so much better.

The plot, the fights, the quests, they're all top notch. I'm very happy with this.

After dragonfall, what was awesome, Hong Kong was underwhelming, so I may be looking forward to this, if you liked the expansion that much.

Only just now started it. Almost got something of a sleeping dogs feel from the first mission.

EDIT: He is Hung Lo, a sarcastic douche of a decker.
