It used to suck shit
Now it's actually alright.
GTFO is a spooky sneaky shootermans for four people. Not less than four. Not more than four. You need four people to play this with or dont even try.
>no in-game voice
>no matchmaking at all
If you can actually get people together to play seriously its fuckin good tho.

played it on VC general with a few people. Really fuckin fun shit. its super hard though having someone run around like its left for dead always ends super early.

Yeah the game requires try-hard level seriousness as a minimum. If you arent patient enough to slowly creep around bopping shit with hammers dont buy this.

having fun with it because lepi and the rest of the gang who joins are usually really on point with completing the mission

Okay but what is it actually?
Is this another L4D but with battle royale mode or am I thinking of the wrong thing?

The stealth feels like payday but not instant gameover if you fuck up, just makes the rest of the mission harder
the alarms and motion sensing doors are like left 4 dead top of the hospital when you're waiting for the heli to pick you up
the objectives and layout change every level to provide an interesting enough gimmick or objective for the level
levels are incredibly hard even with the max amount of people you have to the point where there not being many levels is fine
campaigns are temporary and get swapped with new ones every once in awhile

picked this up with a few friends, really hard but a lot of fun. really great atmosphere too
the best is when someone accidentally triggers a sleeper followed by everyone in your group shouting "WHO THE FUCK DID THAT" followed by complete chaos

Yeah this part seems the oddest to me about it but it works really well.
You get one Rundown every...month and a half or something? Two months?
Each rundown is its own set of missions with their own pre-planned maps and objectives and PLOT
The layouts for each individual mission are static but the placement of pick-ups, enemies, some mission critical objects and stuff is randomized.
There are unique twists to each one so they're kinda like mini campaigns in a sense. Episodes that form a whole chapter.
There's zero progress to the game outside of trying to complete the rundowns while they're up.
You don't level up and unlock guns or gear or any of that; which is kinda refreshing in a way honestly.
The rundowns will have unique pieces of gear that pertain to them and are only available while that rundown is up.
It's all incredibly straightforward. You turn the game on, pick which mission of the rundown you want to try, pick from the gear that is available during this cycle and go.
There're questions of sustainability and stuff. Since each rundown is new map layouts, some new enemies, some now world objects, some new weapon assets and stuff, it's a lot for them to be creating each cycle only to toss out when the next one begins.
I wonder if at some point they'll open it up and let you pick from different previous rundowns or if they'll settle into a rotating schedule where its cycling through a big collection of rundowns they've amassed.
These are the Payday 2 devs after all so I expect at some point we'll see premium weapon packs or perk decks or something pop up. It's still early access so who knows.
For now it's pretty cool just as it is. Spooky multiplayer horror stealth shooter.

The current Rundown is #03 "The Vessel" and involves a very Death Stranding-esque container with a baby or something(???) inside of it.
I dont want to spoil anything but I haven't gotten very far in it yet, just beat the last mission of the first tier today.
We've had to upload a gene sequence from the baby jar, turn on some generators to clear lower levels of death fog, and power up a reactor in the area so far.
I know there's more lore about THE WARDEN and the prisoners you use to play the game from previous rundowns and stuff but I'm new to the game and missed the previous rundowns so I dunno much.

R3A3 a real bitch
I've cleared it twice but keep running it over and over to try and get others through it. It's just a slog of fighting wave after wave of guys and is strictly a combat test for the whole squad. A real wall compared to A1 and A2

Truth. I ran two people I wont name through A2. Level starts "Okay guys this fog shit is bad dont crouch in it okay? Just walk we'll be fine."
Literally.the.second.room.
"Okay anyone hurt"
"Well I have 20% infection what does that mean?"
