I played up to max level and still haven't beat the story. Just me dicking around trying to glitch into the map and doing all the side-stuff. I climbed the radio tower which took a while because it basically required making super precise jumps from beam to beam, and 2/3rds of the way to the top the beam textures actually become invisible which is even more confusing but the view from the top is pretty nice and there's even stuff that looks like cut content from the game.

If you try to follow the shortest route to your objective having started in the middle of the desert you will sometimes get teleported back to where you started with a message implying they're thinking about adding more content out there.

Unrelatedly, I want to repeat that I'm impressed by the design in this game. There are an incredible amount of guns and clothes. The first-person animations are great. The game does a lot well that people don't seem to want to appreciate. It's an ARPG so it could be thoroughly mediocre with everything and coast by on its bad writing and illusion of meaningful choice like Bethesda but instead it ends up having impressive production values in service to a bug-ridden mess that somehow manages to still be fun.

kinda questionable how a game set in 2077 uses radio towers instead of 5g technology

Literally every piece of tech labelled as 'wireless' is RF tech. Radio towers are just big antennas used for range, same with 5G towers.

If you want to be super specific, any redneck in a rural community can set up their own fm/am radio at a frequency in the MHz range - higher frequencies in the GHz have worse effective range but can transmit data at a faster rate, which is what gets used in your wifi and in 5G.

i got the best ending I think by accident without trying
reflexes cool stealth handguns monowire build with some netrunning on the side
too rounded, hard sometimes, but still powerful

i had fun. need to do the other endings

I want to respec as a 90's FPS character so I can just walk forward and shoot things without bothering with crying in cover or spamming X not to die, but making money is a slow process and unlike /tg/station there's a lot of desirable things to spend it on before reaching that 100k goal. Right now I'm very slowly going through the missions list trying to check them all off, making a bit of money in the process. Despite my build being all over the place, I do feel overpowered most of the time, which feels good honestly. For some people, the gamer power process looks like Dark Souls but for me it's this janky unfinished mess where you're either incredibly overpowered or die in two hits in spite of your mismatched outfit and eating a meal beforehand. Playing Deakins in the photo mode and playing dress-up keep slowing me down though. I finally switched my computer case and now for some reason I can play on Ultra while consistently getting 25 - 30 FPS.

hhe, running on Hard on a body/reflexes sword and shotgun weeb build on this one new playthrough. still in the first section of the game and doing all of the little side jobs and crimes and i've already gotten enough scratch to get blue gorilla arms and double jump legs AND pay off a debt. And when the big job is coming. it'll be great.

EDIT: point is, do EVERYTHING and the scratch will come. And if it still doesn't, there's a quest, I forget where, with an item from a quest that you can sell for 4000, then exit form the vendor and buy back for 5 over and over and clean out every merchant and drop box.

Didn't they fix that? I Haven't had it happen since 1.2-something I swear.

They did change it though I haven't played since they did so I'm not sure if it's any good or not. Got 100 hours out of it, enjoyed it for what it was and never touched it again. I'm guessing their tweaks to the police were half-assed though and that they did just barely enough to conceal not having a proper dispatch system like GTA. Probably just made them teleport in further away. I could just Google how it works now but I cbf

Combat is excellent. Story is fantastic. Buggy as fuck. The whole desert teleporting thing hurts. The fact that they just blatantly stopped working on the city past the 5th floor makes parkour a sad reminder of what could have been.

Solidly recommend though. Got 130 hours out of it, still haven't finished each ending and will definitely go for the DLC
.

Did they fix any of the actual problem bugs, or just cool bugs like the K-hop?

It's never going to be what was promised but I still got like 100 hours out of it. Which honestly, is more than I can say for most games.

I guess they want another 2 GB out of me to fail the fix any of the most glaring flaws but I don't think they're ever going to get it.

Outside of the occasional memory leaks, I had no issues. Thought it was very pretty w/ raytracing.

Story was okay, but I think the side missions shined more; the rogue AI taxi missions were based.

Beep-beep, motherfucker.

it’s been over a year and they’ve only done bug fixes pretty much with very little new content. it’s possible I suppose but NMS got right to work as soon as the game launched with new content
