It is a Monster Hunter Game

It is inevitable that I will end up playing it. Might not be trying the demo though since my vidja game focus lies elsewhere with my free time.

Blessed Palamutes. Very good doggo's. Very hyped to see what they do with this gen, when it does get released.

Does the demo data carry over?

Demo just throws you into some quests with preset gear and gives you no tutorial on how any of your weapons work, then tells you to have fun.
You get a small amount of stuff in the main game when it comes out for playing the demo, but there's no progress to carry over.

Games fun so far.

They took their notes from World it seems as some old mechanics appear to have taken the boot (Old Armor skill point system, lack of certain fast travels, ability to keep your room in an online state)
Enjoying the movement as well, but right from the get go it feels like they slowed down somethings as supposed to how fast World got. Game and Movement still feels super fast, the hope though is that this is a good thing.
Lastly, very cool Doggo's, very good combat companion and it streamlines the old Catch a Monster Ride from World. Pet the Doggo

Not a fan of the Monster+Area Intro cutscene style of presentation for this gen, just feels like it got old after the first 3 times.
But meh, you can skip em if it bothers you too much.

Was mad that longsword had 3 FUCKING counters in the demo but it turns out lance can have 3 at all times in the main game so I'm only slightly less mad.
Have only done village quests so far, rampage feels a bit like a clusterfuck but I'm sure it'll be better in hub with other people.
Gunlance having rocket dash to replace charged shelling completely destroyed long shelling and I'm okay with this.
Maps are leagues better than all of world's.

You don't like the Haikus?

Nah, its moreso the delivery seems out of place, somewhat feeling slow with action occurring during the cutscene (yes I know the Haiku lines are rather timed to action in the cutscene). got no problem with Haiku's themselves.

I'm focused on cool Monster Intro, not poem reading, tyvm.

Village (the story part of it) done:
The story was moving at breakneck speed, I felt like I was just given the cliffnotes version of what was going on. I think the problem mostly lies with the PC being a native of Kamura, the characters have established relations with you that you just don't get to see.
Besides that, it was pretty fun, I like the characters even if I don't know any of them.

I just 100%'d the village and got absolutely nothing for it, but it was fun.

Interesting to know that there doesn't appear to be anything for full completing village, still going to do it as there's only like 3 village quest's left for me to full complete village.

Thankfully there's no Wyrmstake from World and I finally get to play Gunlance like a maniac, actually needing to remember button combo's instead of just 3 repeating sequences.

I would say Blast Dash is hella busted (being able to pivot and change direction mid flight, is hilarious), but the Restore sharpness counter takes the prize. It recover's 20 units of sharpness, and I go multiple Hunts without sharpening.
Ground Splitter is the new Wyrmstake damage buff but less obnoxious.
Hail Cutter is the worst since all it really does it shorten your Wyvernfire CD and requires large openings already being hard to manage.

Wonder how long I will hold a perfect Guild Card.

The game is literally unfinished and they're adding the ending later
