-have a healthy MP community
-are designed for master race PC gamer's superior mouse controls not the thumbstick generation
-don't lock away half the game I bought in some vain effort to extract extra play time via awkward grindy pseudo-persistence XP systems

Nosgoth's pretty okay, if you've got good aim then you can really blast some vampire shit as the Hunter or Scout, but everybody plays scout because its the xXx360L33TSN1PERxXx class.

I tried the Battlefield Hardline beta yesterday and like, the day before. It's ended already, but I had a lot of fun in Conquest modo just driving like a psychopath in the giant armored truck both sides get. As cops, put on the sirens and crush some bitch-pissant scum, and then as criminals do the same thing in your huge armored-up black SUV, but with a hilarious little buzzer of a horn. The way it just fucking hurdled over terrain was fucking great, too, it felt like it wanted to smash some fucks.

It has Heist modo which is kinda like PVP Payday, and then there was the Hotwire modo which was 'get points only if you drive around as fast as possible in these certain cars that spawn around the map'. Dudes can spawn in the car if you cap it, so eventually you get a posse of dudes hanging out the windows with grenade lawnchairs and shit while everyone takes shots or sets traps for them when they inevitably fly by. Also vans. Also a fucking fuel tanker. The types of cars and where they spawned were static, sadly, but it was otherwise good times. Especially once you get the perkthing that makes you drive harder, it's hype as fuck.


Uhhhh I can't actually speak for the gunplay though, because I'm generally shit at shooters in the first place.

Hardline is really fun. Not sure about muh shooter purists but holy fuck have I been enjoying it. Visceral is really showing up the swedes with dice LA after the abortion that was battlefield 4. Though, I guess after they've been making games on the frostbyte engine for a while, they've sort of nailed it. Grievances with netcode and getting melted and trading still exist, but if you want your fix of tasing people in a game with more than 10 players without the extremely tryhard community of cs:go, I recommend getting it through mexican proxy for like 40% off or whatever, that's what I'm doing. Visceral recently buffed the time to kill for a lot of weapons so it doesn't feel so call of duty anymore, and it's really fucking great. Best battlefield since bc2.

I was wondering why it felt so much harder to kill dudes with the beta's default MP5 mechanics got than in BF3. The default for the Operator/medic/dedicated HIDEOUS ASSAULT RIFLE guy is kind of a bitch too, that shit's recoil kinda sucked.

Then again, I would probably do better with it if I like, didn't just spray until my mag was empty I guess.

Red Orchestra 2 is pretty die-hard realist but fun nonetheless. I briefly enjoyed Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Phantoms (Online Ghost Recon) but it's Ubisoft and the EULA and stuff is literally Hitler. I'll probably download Interstellar Marines tonight, but at this point the only FPS I play consistently is PAYDAY 2.

I don't like playing old shooters.
Battlefield hard line is pretty good. The operator starts with the world's worst carbine, the mechanic can get the K10 which shreds everything and heist is grenade spam central.

What I don't like about most modern shooters is the pseudo rpg system, I find you end playing them just to get all the unlocks - then when you've got them all you realise you've done the same thing time after time again and grow quickly bored, so now you've got all these toys that you're not going to play with anymore because you're not going to play the game any more because you're bored sick of it - making all that grinding a complete waste of time.
I really feel like those systems spoil the game, I don't like BF/Killing Floor/RO2 because of it.

Where as something like Day of Defeat let me pour hours and hours into it and I enjoyed every minute of it because I was able to play how I like in all that time, and even if I couldn't play exactly how I wanted to play, due to class limits for instance, I wasn't stuck at a disadvantage with shitty stock gear.


The only game I've played that did the unlock system well was BF:2142, and even that I lost interest with once I hit max rank.

Same it came out while I had got into BF2, and never bothered.

Talking of BF2 I still play project reality, which is alot of fun if you like playing autismo-soldier/squad. Get a good squad and it's the best time of your life. However it's a bit cliquey getting a good squad is hard - it's really something you need to have friends enough that want to play - battles can last for hours.

Every time I play TF2 I'm quickly reminded why I don't anymore.

That said if anyone wants to play it with me I'm up for it, TF2 is a lot more fun with people you know.

Its back, but I just can't bring up enough care to reinstall TF2. Its the only server I care to play on anyway, unless its to harass the furry servers with obnoxious micspam with a flamethrower.
