Bottom post of the previous page:

Graphics are kinda bad. The game also gets really samey really quickly so you get bored fast.

So, when you pay up for a new weapon or armor, EVERYONE, gets the stuff, instead of manufactoring one by one.
They intended purpose is for the player to customize those, so a good soldier has better gear than his peers, even if the standard is the same.
I saw an UFO raid, and in that, a new unit, some sort of techno ghost, apparently if you wound it, but fail to kill it in the turn, it clones itself. From what I saw, it's like the outsider (bullshit aim, if you kill it there is nithing left behind)

When the xenos complete the avatar project you're given a last chance to raid some scientific station, and blow it up so they won't win yet, sadly I couldn't see that, since the player was awful and unable to reach the location.

In the do or die missions, like defending the avenger, even wounded soldiers can be deployed.

I like it, it was bullshit to have dudes with only hours left till recovery not being able to defend their sorry lives should xenos strike.

Also, killing liggers is alway A-ok, Bradford approves.

In Enemy Unknown I always made all my troopers into helmeted, faceless soldiers. They looked cool but they also had almost no individualism.

Xenonauts is quite fun, but is really more of a modern remake of the original Xcom. Nothing more or less.

Xcom 2 is a interesting way of advancing modern franchise in a unique way that also by chance expands the Geoscape strategy beyond looking pretty.

This game has freaking tentaculats. One of those xenos, called "Gatekeeper" can psyrape the troopers, and instantly raise the defeated as zombies for funnier raep.

I never actually played an XCOM game until recently, bought Enemy Unknown off the humble bundle.

Holy fuck this is probably the most fun I've had with a strategy game since Civ. I'm probably going to grab XCOM2 now after my experience so far with Enemy Unknown.

fuck ye

As soon as I got my hands on devastator cannons, I used to love sending thirty guys into a cult temple and just hosing down the entire building. Only people who I actually liked would get such luxuries as "giving a shit about collateral damage" during investigations.
Can't do that in new xcom and the game is worse for it.

The old X-com games just give you so much more options

At least Xcom 2 will innovate instead of trying (And failing hard) to emulate the old games

Play UFO Defense the Republican way:

Give everyone stun prods and try to maximize your profit per mission regardless of how many people it kills.

I like to imagine my XCOM soldiers are actually prisoners and other unfortunate people conscripted into service and forced to go out and capture stuff for XCOM at huge personal risk (like seriously 60%+ fatality rate per mission).
It ends up working out though if you know how to game the system producing profit in your workshops and selling off all the alium goodies you steal on a mission, failed or otherwise.

You can end up being pretty self-sustaining even if you are ordering a whole new compliment of soldiers after every mission because the last lot died.

Don't forget, stun rods are good, but you're going to want stun gas grenades too

And some guns for the stuff that just won't be profitable to stun. Like cyberdisks

Fuck terror missions honestly. This sounds awful and I feel genuinely bad for you.
First time I played the game I didn't realize it didn't autosave. I actually got really really far in one session and was doing stupidly well (although I didn't realize it at the time, I just thought the game was normally that easy). Eventually I got dealt some bullshit mission that had 0 cover down the center and swarms of enemies from all directions with loadsa cover, and RNG decided it no longer liked me. I lost my entire squad, and since I had never saved once, there was jack shit I could do about it.
RIP Duke Nukem, my favorite soldier. ;-;7

Ha I remember playing UFO defense and I had left most of my soliders on the skyranger while I had a few go scout things out. Well one of the guys on the ranger got mind controlled and happen to have a rocket launcher and ended up blowing everyone up on the plane.

Don't remember much after that, probably blacked out or something.

It's actually really good once you tweak enough to fix the shitty FPS. There's so many quality of life improvements over the original along with the new stuff.

I could start seeding people into my game and give you guys reports if you want.

So far I have two star soldiers:

#1) MACHO MAN Randy Savage looking dude who joined randomly wearing aviators with a handlebar mustache and a faux hawk. AMERICAN PATRIOT WARRIOR. I thought he would be fucking useless but at least worth a laugh, but he bro'ed out of control and gunned down two sectoids and a random ADVENT trooper during different overwatch setups during really clutch moments. Currently wounded.

#2) Tumblr-ite girl. She wears nerd glasses and has an undercut. Looks like she posts SJW shit all day long when she isn't fighting aliums. Probably has a blog dedicated to their different gender identities. She also has a gigantic fucking sniper rifle and is really fucking good with it. Also kills a lot of assholes during overwatch no fucks given. Has the highest killcount by a wide margin of the squad already. Also has the most followers and reblogs of anyone on the squad. Is Australian, for some reason.
