That's kind of like wining an all county middle school track meet in rural Alaska.

Sounds about right
Watched videos of it, seems amusing for a few rounds but then time to move on

Have fun though

Then you've never played Silent Hunter and you're a fucking liar.

happy now?

on that note: silent hunter won "most realistic game" award so you cant top that, but its limited to the 40s, and its not on the market anymore due to being DOS

I am appeased. Enjoy your warships.

I would like a mod of Silent Hunter where you get a destroyer instead of a sub

I've been playing this the past days when I had working internet, really fun to play. I've only got some complaints about how some early ships are so terrible it's hard to get the next ship (SOUTH CAROLINA) but otherwise it's nice to play every so often.

I stopped playing when they completely ruined Carrier gameplay. If they ever fix it ill give it another try.

I got bored and downloaded this because it's free

>See single aircraft flying about
>Lel single aircraft, probably not an issue, let my AA take care of it
>It drops 5 torpedoes right on my ass from 1km in the air at nearly point blank range

I don't even
What
That's way too high for a torpedo drop and one plane dropping 5 in a spread that can't be avoided is mindboggling
Why the hell thought that was a good idea?
Placeholder until they get their shit together and get airplanes in?

Probably a visual bug and you get used to torpedo bombers after awhile

Planes are not synced very well with their animations. The best way to avoid torpedo runs is to know when they are coming and dodge before the torps are even in the water. Keep an eye on the planes and you can usually tell when they start their attack run.

...but yes, carriers can perform some insane torpedo runs are are almost entirely unavoidable. Tis my favorite class. I cant play anything else(although i havent played WoWs in a long time now because carriers were in a REALLY bad spot balance-wise).

I'm not very far into it, I have the tier 3 Nippon destroyer and it's basically fucking easy mode because no one turns even when I've been spotted

Wait until you get in higher tiers..

Everything will be firing at you if you are spotted!

I went into this with the idea that I'd be going for a carrier since that's what I liked the most(And pretty much only thing I liked) in Navy Field

But the grind is already getting to me before I've even unlocked a carrier, and the plane animations and synch being absolute shit is definitely not helping

I feel like I've gotten fairly decent at destroyer gameplay.

I came into it thinking they were just going to be light tanks a la WoT but

They're immensely fun
Torpedoes are dirty as hell, especially against targets that are too slow or too stupid to turn

Pretty much.

Even other destroyers don't turn to evade torps and I just have to sit there and scratch my head.

Like, I can maybe understand a low tier cruiser not knowing that he's about to get fucked sideways, but every other class you either know what torps can do first hand or you're at tier 4+ and you've played long enough to see a torp spread at least once

Fun fact

If a battleship rams an enemy battleship, both of them die instantly
I enjoyed testing this by running my tier 4 full speed right at the enemy team and ramming a tier 6. Along the way I rammed two torpedoes(And barely missed ramming a destroyer that dropped said torpedoes), and shot a cruiser a few times before I hit the battleship(Who was at near full health) with only a little chunk of health left myself.

He instantly exploded and died, and so did I
