I advanced some of the story quest today then decided I wanted to fuck off and level fishing from 6 all the way to 20, with a few levels in culinarian for fun

Best way to level any crafting or gathering classes is levequests, just so you know. Although sitting back and grinding fishing can be comfy. Offers some okay money at max level as well.

Yeah, I fished up a ton of stuff then turned it all over and handed in a bunch of leves. Got me a ton of levels.

Then I cooked up all the fish that were too low in level to be useful for leaves because why not level culinarian.

BTW I transformed Muni into Clawdio using a potion and a name change service so if people are wondering who the shit the new new guy is, it's the same new guy.

Not sure which coat that is but crafters get better gear with every patch just like all other classes. Items that were so hard to craft you needed one of your three specializations in the class you craft them with then become craftable to people without that specialization, which drops the price.

Right now the Replica (High) Allagan gear is some of the most expensive gear on the marketboard. It requires specializations AND rare materials, and it looks like the gear that drops in the Binding Coil but you can dye it and you don't have to farm Turn 9 over and over with people who keep placing the meteors right next to each other.

Yes, make friends with someone who plays a tank or healer so you don't have to suffer the duty finder.

Alternatively you just do Palace of the Dead a fucking ton especially now that it gives some pretty nice rewards.
I got Bard to 54, realized I fucking hated it and spent the next 3 days grinding up a Ninja in PotD up to 54 so I could keep going with the story quest.

Probably looking atleast at red mage and dancer. Red mage I'm kinda hoping as a melee magic support type thing. Dancer as a TP based healer. Probably beastmaster as a tank, but dunno if they'll do that or samurai. Either way will switch to maining red mage.

What was the thing about a new race he let go?

DPS are overly excitable and want to get to stabbing anything as fast as they can, even before you establish aggro. Set up macros to mark targets with your ranged pull or just do it manually. If they see a big glowing (1) above something they all become erect at the thought of taking down a marked target and will gladly stab it in the ass.

Will mark a thing with your axe throw when you use it, useful and simple.

That was last time, for Heavensward. He was talking about gear and said something along the lines of "actually, this looks awesome on the new race we're gonna implement", forgetting that the Au Ra hadn't been announced yet.

it has a lot of filler in it and they kept the primals (Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva) merged with the rest of the story

the 3.X storyline is a lot better about that, less filler and the primals (the Warring Triad) are their own separate quest line that you complete independently

Play another tank first or start with very low level dungeons, jumping into Dark Knight at 30 without any idea how to tank in this game is a Bad Time. You need to level Gladiator anyway to unlock Provoke, and Marauder has a few useful skills as well.

launch is a disaster, there are 2 instance walls early on because the servers can't handle the congestion, and the first primal has a bug where clearing it might lock you out of your character permanently
