yes
you are correct
bastion represents 100% of video games
not liking it means you do not like any video games at all, as bastion is the only one

the main draw to bastion is the narrator, who has a good voice but gets kind of old after listening to him narrate everything you do
aside from that it doesnt really have much going for it
when i played it it felt like they were trying to say "hey look at these pretty graphics and this soothing voice!" more than "hey play our fun game!"

A few hours in and its okay.

Falls short of Bastian's quality in almost every way, but it's still fun.

Mixing and matching different powers is pretty cool, but the interface for it is very clunky. Not built for KB+M input.

I finished Transistor and it was great but the ending is terrible, and the problem with having a shit ending is it makes the rest of the game seem vastly worse because it's the last thing you do and what the rest of the game is leading up to.

Is good. Less repetitive than bastion so far. Power changing menu is quite unresponsive but outside of that menu game runs fine.

Boss battle was cool. Ending gave me mixed feelings.

Spoiler:
Let's just leave the city in the state it's in and suicide to live in a sword for that special indie ending.

My favourite combos are spark+crash+jaunt to stun and weaken enemies, then cull+mask+load to do ~500 aoe damage with bonus crash and backstab damage. There are probably better ways to break the game, though.

In the end though, I still preferred Bastian over all aspects except combat. Experimenting with different combos was pretty fun.

I like to mask then triple void(crash)(crash is under void so I can get it to stop interrupting my sweet combos with its tiny damage also doesn't unmask) then I hit with cull(load, spark) to their back for 3619 damage. You can probably go higher.

Spoiler:
My main issue with the end is that it didn't answer any questions, and there were so many unanswered questions. There's no closure.
Also while the end boss fight itself was fun, the setting was just like... am I playing Kingdom Hearts now?

Would agree that Bastion was better in basically every way except for the skill system.

Not that great unfortunately, all the post-bastion hype kind of fueled a lot of people buying it but I knew not to buy this one when I saw a lot of the gameplay at game conventions previously. Pirated and while I would like to support these devs I'd also like it if they didn't milk the narrator thing for their next game. Honestly, they did so many things different from bastion but still did the same 'silent protagonist & narrator' shtick that was really good in bastion but mostly because the VA was fucking supurb and if you're going to have someone talk for 90% of the game he'd better not be lackluster like transistor's narrator was.

I'm not quite sure why people think the ending makes no sense
Spoiler:
Even after Red got admin rights to the entire city, she couldn't bring the actual people back, so what's the point? From the get-go Red only cared about getting her boyfriend back and Royce reveals that entering the Transistor is a one way street, so letting herself get absorbed by the sword was really the only option. Yeah it'd be nice to know more about the world but you can piece most of it together with the narration quips and terminal readings.

Thoroughly pleased liked ending, game is good.

Getting copies of functions at latter levels is quite fun.

Got this gifted a few days back

It was pretty good. Slightly disappointed at the lack of answers, combat being mostly the same enemies over and over, and short length of the story, but it was still pretty neat and worth the time

Is the new game+ worth playing? I enjoyed it but I didn't enjoy it enough to play the same game with slightly harder enemies.

Well, you can get duplicate functions (and double/triple up on them if you want) and most encounters in the ng+ cycles have different enemies (Men in Fairview, for example). Some doors in the break room only open in ng+, so it's the only way to get the Agency achievement.

There's a few things here and there that change like the opening cinematic and the city is apparently more heavily processed in ng+. If you liked the gameplay and want to mess around with function combos, sure. I'm personally waiting to see if they're going to make any additional content.
