Bottom post of the previous page:

It's still fun playing with friends but playing the same limited number of maps and 2 gamemodes over and over again is starting to get to me; oh boy gold weapons and comp play whoop de fucking doo when it's on the same modes that have always been out. I mean all I'm asking for is some hints or teasers at new maps or gamemodes and I'll be fine but I see people who have that star next to their name and I'm just like how the fuck are they not starting to burn out on the same shit every time over and over repeated

edit: okay modes I'm not so worried about but I still think there could at least be way more maps then there are currently for a 40 dollar game

I'd agree on the more maps, it feels incredibly repetitive already. Though its hard to compare it to something. If you compare it to TF2, your forgetting it took a LOT of its maps from TFC, which had 10+ years of community and pro maps being made for it. Not to mention another 10 years after that where we slowly saw more maps.

I think it could benefit from allowing the community to map, but that would probably mean they'd have to actually unveil what engine they're using amongst other hidden things that blizzard likes to hide behind it's doors.

I came back from closed beta after I saw new modes and maps (if you think its repetitive now, imagine when the only mode was Payload or Hanamura), but yea its getting kind of repetitive again. I'd love to see more maps soon but Blizzard is glacial about this kind of stuff.

I always seem to be on the receiving end of funky hitboxes, I got killed by a Reinhart pin as a Mercy and the playback showed me literally glitching right into him even though the only thing even close to him was my wings.
Don't even get me started on Hanzo though, I got hit around the corner somehow by him once.

Apparently they're fixing Hanzo's hitboxes

Or so my brother says, not a clue if they actually are

Yeah, the hitboxes in general have been tightened. Bit of a pisser for Reaper and D.Va, the smaller boxes make their shotguns less damaging.

Convient how blizzard fixes a problem thats been in since launch a week after the community makes a video demonstrating how borked they are.

I do look forward to not getting headshotted around corners by Hanzo's truck arrows anymore. Reaper doing less damage is fine by me, given that I often see him solo tanks, ambush heroes should never feel they can run in head on and succeed.

D.va doing less damage is kinda annoying, but if thats the price of balance I'm fine with it, they can tweak her to bring her back up to speed later if need be.

I am somewhat curious if Roadhog's hook will be nerfed in doing this, as I've see people getting hooked over walls, it's vertical reach was outright insane. And thats coming from a guy who likes to play roadhog.

Re: TF3

Reaper's still just as strong versus tanks- their hitboxes are already so huge he doesn't need the air-boxes to deal full damage.

So I got this today

Played with my brother
Already did better than him with some heroes
Two plays of the game in under an hour, one of roadhog ult pushing everyone off the cliff at that tower place and one Dva ult blowing up 3 people after I used the shield to absorb ALL of a pharah's ult

Seems like 'press Q for play of the game' was true

Re: TF3

Certain heroes have ludicrously powerful Ults, others do not. Lucio, for example, is never gonna get PotG off his ult, while Hanzo and Reaper almost always will. PotG is calculated by recording who got the most points in a 5~ second period and replaying that footage. This is generally why healers get shat upon, because healing people is worth less points than damaging/killing people.

Re: TF3

by EndgamerAzari
They're working on fixing the PotG algorithm so it's not just "carnage per second", but it's hard to teach a computer what looks cool versus what has numerical value.

I play Lucio probably the most, and his ult may not seem like much, but there have been times when dropping the Sound Barrier has saved my team from a wipe and helped push back a coordinated assault. Feels good man.

I think you might have been in a match against me cause I remember my team getting really salty at a Mei.
Then again, that was basically all day.

Also Torbjorns putting their turrets/Bastions deploying sentry mode on the moving latforms in Volshaya Industries are the worst kind of people.

I tried to stick Symmetra's turrets to the bottom of those platforms but they get scraped off by the lip of the windows they move through ;_;

You can put them on the very corner on top and they'll work pretty well.

It's really not hard to counter the moving turret, specially if you have a sniper or Pharah. I've also seen quite a few Bastions get meathooked from that platform by Roadhog, and it is hilarous.

Symmetra is a hero I like in principal but dislike playing in general. Her teleporter just isn't good enough, she has no mobility to place it anywhere it might be useful/hard to find, her sentrys are pretty weak even when grouped up and they've only got slightly longer attack range than she can place them, so you pretty much have to stand where you want people to die to properly place them. Her shields could use a buff too, seeing how it takes up her E slot when it may as well be a passive team boost and give her something more useful as an active ability. Like shift her teleporter to E and make her ult power up her turrets and grant more shields for a duration. She's the worst support.

Symmetra has a >60% win rate. She might need to be made more fun to play, but she doesn't need to be made stronger.

I think the thing about Symmetra is that you don't see her much in many matches so people massively underestimate her. And then suddenly get melted by her gun at max power.
I've been able to dive into a group of enemies and melt them before they realise what's going on.

Her turrets just depend on how dumb people are. Anyone who can react to being shot can take them out fairly quickly. Other than that, they can finish off low health enemies if you place them around health packs.
Winston is a pain in the ass to deal with though, since just waving his gun at your turrets and they all go down.

I played against a symetra today

As Roadhog
Bulled them with the hook so much that they changed class

It seems to me that Symetra is mostly just a hero that kinda hopes you don't see her. Because if you do she's dead

Re: TF3

I'd only honestly make her shield "E" ability a passive for the whole team and replace it with a moderate heal.

All the supports have some form of healing except her and it really makes her stick out.

Re: TF3

Posted: Thu Jul 28, 2016 8:57 pm
by EndgamerAzari
I feel like she needs to be a little more versatile to be a non-healing support class. Either give her another ability or change how her shield works. If you could give it to individual team members more often it'd be much more useful.

Re: TF3

Posted: Thu Jul 28, 2016 8:58 pm
by Akkryls
See, I first thought that her gun would charge the shield to a higher level rather than just 25 shields or whatever it is. That would kind of make more sense.
But yeah, she doesn't fill the support role in the same way the others do, she kind of suits the defense class more.

Re: TF3

I feel like they didn't fulfill the potential of her theme of "Hard Light Architect". She should have more kinds of constructs--barriers or other traps spring to mind, things to funnel the enemy team towards or away from certain areas.

Symmetra is great. She doesn't need any changes.

She has a really high win percentage because the maps on which she's good are very obvious and the areas of the map in which she shines are really obvious. She's a very binary character that is either going to be great on this map that is coming up so you pick her and do well with her (because she's only difficult to use at first glance, but after a few rounds is very easy to execute) or is going to be terrible on this map that is coming up so you use someone else.

When she's good she's great. When she's not she's basically unplayable.

She doesn't need any extras. She can mass turrets on chokepoints and objectives that all DOT the enemy down while also slowing them. Her gun blows right through Reinharts shield adding pressure while they try to advance while locking on and sapping the life out of someone in close range if they try to mix it up with you. She gives her whole team a pool of additional, regenerating health. Her ult change the landscape of the map and allows your team to flood an area.

She's fucking great.

If her win percentage is only 60% overall it's probably because of spicy hot memesters trying to force Symmetra on attack because of hipster-tier faggotry snowflake playstyle, and getting scrubbed out. On the maps and roles where she's actually meant to be played I would wager her win% is closer to 80+

Re: TF3

Posted: Thu Jul 28, 2016 9:36 pm
by XSI
I actually played her on attack and it was great.
Slapped down 4 turrets on point and melted through Winston shield bubbles and pretty much anyone else who got close
Probably helped that the enemy team was 3 hanzos with shit tier aim

Then I stopped playing her because I wasn't actually having fun with it. It's neat placing turrets but after that it kinda just becomes like you're playing Winston with low health and single target damage instead of just electrics all over.

She's certainly a complicated character to use, and I'm not very good with her, but I'm practicing. I just think they could have expanded on the idea some more. Imagine if she could temporarily create stairs or bridges, things like that.

Take a closer look at the stats. Winrate: 62.2% Total Playtime: 1.2%

She is a very niche hero with little to no flexibility. People choose her ONLY on attack/defend maps because she needs to be able to reinforce an area ahead. The only hero played less than Symmetra right now is Mei, and thats largely got to do with the hate she gets. Tourbjorn can at least hold his own, his armor is a miniheal and his ult improves his effectiveness. Symmetra on the otherhand, her ult is self defeating. If your team is doing good and not wiping/dying in droves, her teleporter is basically unneeded as the team is holding and doesn't need to be reinforced constantly. When her teleporter IS needed because the team got wrecked, the teleporter will likely be destroyed before the team can respawn and push out. To further complicate things, she can't even move the teleporter once it's placed so unlike a TF2 engi she can't tactically relocate it around the map so her team can better utilize the surprise of a quick return.

Make her teleporter an E ability with a decently long cooldown.
Replace Ultimate with an overshield for a single person (ala Lucio) that doesn't decay after being applied.

Or anything with shotguns, just aim near the head and it works
