Builds for high-end solo?

I'm currently running the Sickle/Shield meta and it's really strong. It feels like cheating, though, to not use ammo.

Weapon: Justice 20L
Perk: Cardio (or All-Terrain Boots if you have to)

Slot 1:
Supply drop for missions that have a "kill X number of dudes"
Recoilless Rifle for missions that have "destroy this shit"
If you have to pick between the two, go with the supply drop and make sure you have an upgraded hellbomb.

Slot 2:
EXO-44 to be used when calling in the shuttle at the end of the mission

Slot 3:
Distractor beacon

Slot 4:
Distractor beacon

You can solo Helldives with this setup pretty easily. I've come around on the EXO solely for this purpose. This is the one thing it's really good at. Similarly I've found a legitimate use for the jump pack: jumping around like an asshole during boss fights and retaliatory strikes.

Seriously gotdam. I solo'ed the Illuminate cape and I'm about to do the same for Cyborg.

Cyborgs are legit fucking hard, the mass amount of IFV spam really fucks you over until you really realize how they work

Because every other scout in the game always knows where you are on the map and raises an alarm when they find you, you immediately go to shoot the borg scouts but they're really fucking tanky/an IFV so you get fucked, but the thing about their scouts is that they don't know where you are, they're literally just on patrols so you can either go around them or for IFVs go prone and they go right around you and don't raise the alarm.

Against Cyborgs pack anti-tank stuff or you're going to get reamed. If you don't have a fully-upgraded recoillless rifle already, get to work on it. It makes missions against them a lot easier.

So anything more than solo at high levels seems unambiguously difficult, and it all seems to stem from the fact that players have to manage the camera. I'm not sure I like it, but it's certainly a challenge. One of the big advantages of ammo-less lasers is that you can spam them at off-screen scouts.

Also the Rumbler (DLC mortar) is screen-clearingly good fun, but I wouldn't advise using it in a squeeze. It blows you up if anything is standing point-blank in your line of fire.

Tonight on Helldivers: The Movie: The Game our crew dominates a couple rank 9 invasion missions but then struggles to complete a rank 4.

We learn the dangers of splitting the group into two vehicles when PAS fires a round from the HAV's cannon into the APC containing An0n3 and a random pubbie, killing both. He quickly follows this up by running over both Drynwyn and himself.

Drynwyn continues to use devastating area-effect weapons to mixed results, setting himself and others on fire multiple times with his shiny new plasma rifle, and blowing up both An0n3 and multiple pieces of equipment with an anti-tank turret during a retaliatory strike.

An0n3's judgement is called into question when he declares he is "recycling" a HAV by parking it under the incoming evac shuttle, running himself over in the process then getting pancaked by the shuttle. Somehow this results in everyone else getting killed and missing the shuttle while he still makes it on board.

Tonight's true star was the random pubbie "Arctic Monkey" whom had to be enticed to board the HAV with offers of free candy and samples.

All PAS did was run over people, I was in the turret at the time.

Besides that pubbie totally deserved it with the shit-talking about how the APC was better then the HAV

Can't trust people who group up in games like this unless you know them. I remember once in L4D2 I joined in on the survivor team as Zoey and immediately all three of them started shooting me to death. After I died they laughed in Russian and then promptly died because they tried to speedrun on expert.

Yeah but it was pretty damn hilarious. I was crying with laughter at one point with our complete ineptitude. I fell like we all saw the puppie was a noob and went "don't worry rookie we'll take you under our wing , it's only a level 4 after all" and then proceed to do the exact fucking opposite. XD

Oh god that reminds me of the CoD World at War coop campaign. I used to play with a group of guys who would use grenades to try to break the game. The highlight of our time together was successfully clipping a random outside of the map and having him walk on the floor of the boundary box to complete the mission. Fucking TS blew up when he clipped through the floor. I might have recorded that actually, let me check.

I noticed under settings in the main menu is an option to reset all your research. Not sure if that refunds all the research points you've spent or just wipes your slate clean. Mite b cool if the former, totally useless if its the latter.

The research point one just resets the points, not your unlocks or levels.

I really don't think it's worth finding out at this point. I'm almost certain it doesn't refund the points.
