Depends entirely on server structure.

If someone in the group is hosting a server specifically for our activities it's great.
If the server is multi-purpose but people know not to wander into rooms they're not a part of it's good.
If you're all piling into some random server nobody in the group is actually in charge of and random fucktards keep spilling into the room to shout WHO ARE ALL OF YOU WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING CAN I JOIN it's a goddamn nightmare.

Installing Arma 3 right now. Don't have any mods or anything else. Will probably just get the A3G torrent setup. That stuff is pretty good.

EDIT so i think i am syncing, but the instructions seemed slightly out of date, the menus are not exactly as described and i never found anywhere to enable "search DHT network". In any case it seems to be working

You could probably just use the regular branch. It's been so long since anything was in development for Arma3 AFAIK
