I keep looking at this. $39.99 is a bit pricey for something that's still in Early Access and entirely depends on the community around it.

If everyone gets burned out during EA then the game is dead.
It looks like Arma 3 lite...only I think we all already have Arma 3 so I'm not sure what the point is.

But on the plus side:
It's new
It doesn't need 1,000,000 mods and complicated bullshit to play
It actually has people playing it

Is it really worth it? Could we all squad up and play together?

But Project Reality is free and doesn't even require BF2 anymore. It has more stuff too.

I"m still skeptical.

At least with Arma3 we can do small-scale co-op OPER80's with our m80's.

This seems like a big TvT clusterfuck. I can just hear the neckbeards trying to scream orders at me already.

Will buy next payday.

Realized we can create our own custom squads within the overall platoon structure.
We'll be able to join in the middle of a proper fightan man's army and be our own crack unit of total fuckups.

This gon b good

Yea dude.
And if you suck the commanders dick enough he'll give your bunch of rag tag nig nogs a specialised equipment role such as scouting or whatever.

Or atleast that's the plan but right now it's still in the "Infatry test" phase so no vehicles yet.

Its a really good game, I enjoy it. I'm looking forward to when the first vehicles are implemented. Which hopefully should be early February.

I will say at least that the smoke effects in Squad are much better than the completely fucking useless attempt at smoke screen in Arma3.

I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse. Maybe a while from now it'll be worth the price of admission but it doesn't seem to be making much progress.

You could get Arma3 for the same price, and all the mods and insanity that come with that.

>complaining about running in a milsim game

yeah truly must be the worst thing in the world.

i mean youre buying an early access game so take that as you would, not everything has been added yet such as vehicles. I do think the price is extremely steep for what youre getting but oh well, c'est la vie.

if the end product is an improvement over Project Reality at the end of the day its worth the money i spent on it so i dont really mind waiting.

It was just the running to action ratio was a bit on the running side that put me off.

All milsims are like that.

There is not one where it has dynamic instant in the action spawning. Not a good one anyway. You spend majority of the time running around, looking at silhouettes and trying to figure out if they're enemy or friendlies, another 5 minutes asking command if it's okay to fire, and then you exchange fire, majority of the time nothing really occurs because you're nearly BVR and at the extreme of weapon range but if you get unlucky you're down. Maybe you can get patched up and you're fine else you're done go back to your FOB and find your way back.

ARMA, Squad, PR, they're all like this.

ARMA can be a little bit less running depending on what kind of map you are playing. In our 120mm FREEDOM INBOUND game you had infinite HALO jumps that let you parachute anywhere on the map, which made it a little less painful

Quasi vanilla Arma 3 is still pretty good. I don't think I'll ever get tired of storming a village with 30+ battle buddies and skull fucking CSAT faggots with 7.62 rounds and occasionally getting screened at for killing a teammate who was wearing CSAT gear for whatever reason
