Avoid. The game might be fun eventually but it has played out like a massive cash grab from the start. Promised the world, got the money, then the old project lead bailed and the new one was left to start walking back all those promises

I had a longer list of broken promises but it's been like a year since I got a Founders key in a giveaway and I can't remember everything from back then.

Been waiting for the NDA to lift so I could tell people to steer clear of it.

RIP warhammer fantasy, you will be missed. The Old World was one of my favorite fantasy settings and now it is GG no re ded. Age of shitmar is lolnorules and 40k is miserable to play because GW keeps releasing bigger and more powerful models that all the shitter munchkins cant help but buy and here i sit trying to eke out a handfull of wins against my powergamer friends with my humble imperial guardsmen. This hobby is goin down the tubes m80s

The steam reviews are full of bullshit. Some of their claims about the features of the game are straight up lies.

I had a shitton of fun in Planetside 2. Rolled around as a combat medic in an outfit and was the most overpowered class in the whole game.

I think there was a pen & paper of that. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, and Google isn't helping either. You were with a band of other player orks on this shitty desert planet that was about to be burned up by the sun and you had to level up get big, get mean and smash some gits so you could leave the place with your ork followers.

Gorkamorka was basically a reskinned Necromunda with vehicles.

It was ridiculously imbalanced but still fun to play.

40k Space Marine was fucking baller. Real great TPS. Dawn of War I was also good, as was Dawn of War II which are both RTS though both are very different as to how they play. I'd say DoW 1 is a bit better though since it's more traditional and I feel a lot more action packed even though it is kinda old by now.

It's short but sweet.

Vermintide is fun. Gets repetitive and has some latency issues but provides some fun.

The Warhammer MMO had a lot of reskinned WoW stuff going on but was half-decent as far as MMO's go.

Most fun to be had in the game was just going up in the hills with a friend as a two-man sniper team and harassing the shit out of enemy columns or forts. It was one of the only things that felt like it actually worked.

Man I actually kinda miss Age of Reckoning. Was in a PVP-RP guild. It was an ork guild. Played an especially retarded black orc named "Goatjaw Stinkteef". PvPed in world pvp as a mob of ork assholes talking in character while stompin bitches.

Make a game about Gaunt's ghosts and my money will be happily spent, instead of yet another Sm vs Csm or Sm vs orks.

I played it. One of my favourite mods was the old Armageddon Steel Legion mod. And Hell yes. Bring back more Ghosts stuff!

Honestly there's only one way to play Planetside 2. If you just go in either alone or with friends you're gonna have a terrible time and it's gonna be boring. You need to join one of the guilds, there's dudes in there who will organize like 500 dudes to either go and do small ops and take tons of shit around the maps and just get shit done. I joined one a long time ago that I can't remember the name of and I had a fucking blast. Managed to fully cert out my Combat Medic and even get some cosmetics.

The devs are a Canadian shovelware/indie company that made Naughty Bear and tons of licensed movie/cartoon games.

Rome 2 was a catastrophe and no amount of apology patches could fix that game, and the DLC was worse than Shogun 2's. Total Warhammer has Chaos as a pre-order DLC, in a game with only 4 playable factions at launch.


Speaking of Planetside 2, I purchased a month's subscription to Planetside (never played it before) in order to get into the Planetside 2 beta, and it was immediately clear to me that the older game was superior in almost every way.

They were never in as anything but NPCs for the SMs

Playing ig really gives the best stories though, just because they are perpetually the underdog. I have killed a tyranid trygon prime with a lasvolly. I have a squad of Veterans with shotguns charge an avatar of khaine and kill it with knives. I had a demolition squad drop a mother fucking detpack on a squad of Grey knights paladins (terminators with two wounds) back when Grey knights were super try hard and instant killed all but one, who later got stabbed

dawn of war 2 IG was okay even though dawn of war 2 is worse than 1 because of the catachans and their hilarious voice acting.

It's just a clunky lobby shooter/slightly worse space marine multiplayer knockoff, the MMO part has been entirely abandoned.

I think it's fine. 40 bucks gets you all the gameplay-meaningful content. All I can say is that I bought it and haven't regretted it.

"Gameplay meaningful" content still changed from Planetside: 40k to Low Budget Space Marine But No Campaign during the course of development.

I don't see the point of buying this when I already own Space Marine and could play the exact same multiplayer game, if I wanted.
