They have an interesting premise here, but goddamn is their execution incredibly corny. The anime-ness is turned up to 11 with the same tired tropes in cutscenes, while they hamhandedly try to bombard you with forced drama.

It actually feels closer to Starcraft II's model.

The game's story splits into two separate paths after the tutorial. The path you go on is determined by which version you bought. Next month they're also going to be releasing a third path as a conclusion to the game. Which you also have to buy, of course.

At least pokemon only had a few minor differences.

Bad story aside, the game is actually pretty fun.

The scenarios are far more varied and interesting, and the Nohr path is actually kicking my ass pretty hard. (Ch 10 Hard)

Enemies being able to pair up keeps fucking with everything I've become used to in Fire Emblem.

I hate the split story mode but they at least made them somewhat different.
Hoshido aka Birthright is easy mode, they compared it to awakening. You can grind as much as you like and get showered in gold.
Nohr aka Conquest is where you have to tear victory out of the jaws of defeat, no grinding and the game is stingy with gold and items. It's closer to the GBA fire emblems.

Nohr is really lacking in waifus. They stacked them all on Hoshido's side.

I had to settle for Effie, and goddamn was that cringy as hell. She was kind of cute in her supports, but they ham it up so badly in the proposal, and she starts sounding like she has brain damage in interactions with her afterwards.

I'm thinking of playing Birthright after I'm done with Conquest. Nohr is actually pretty hard and I had to go down to Normal difficulty at around Chapter 10. If I do Birthright it will be at least on Hard.

Because although the writing is retarded, the game is still really fun.

You get basically 0 gold and exp nohr side, meanwhile hoshido can get everything their heart desires. Level 20 gor everyone with cappped stats, 50k gold, you name it.

Halfway through Nohr you stop getting new recruits as well. I'm on Chapter 27 with 3 filler slots in my army now.

I just beat Conquest and now I want to play Birthright. I'm going to try my best to avoid grinding as much as I can, though. Or at least play it on hard.

They really dicked me over by removing the ability to save on the last level, though. It really made me want to keep playing when I lost someone because there is no way I am going to replay TWO levels in a row.

Pretty fun, actually. I bear Birthright's story is at least better than Conquest's, if not just by a little bit.

The map design just isn't as interesting. It's so easy just to blob around in birthright. The story is still uninteresting drivel, though.

I got a taste of Conquest's difficulty and map design, and now I want more.

Is Revelations any good? I hear the story is even more fucking stupid as Conquest's but is it fun?
