I'll pre-order that as soon as its offered. I loved playing the Space Hulk boardgame and PC game as a kid. Anything vaguely Alien/Aliens always gets my attention, plus this is made by the guys who made E.Y.E.

Strangely good run of Warhammer and 40k games the last calendar year. Between Vermintide, Battlefleet Gothic, and this it's kinda weird.

I'm so fucking happy for the guys who made this. E.Y.E. was a super-ambitious but deeply flawed (though don't get me wrong, I love it more than I can feasibly express) game that was basically a 40K fanwork. Then they get to make an actual 40K game. How fuckin' cool is that? Living the damn dream. Might have to pick this up as well.

I think how terrible E.Y.E. is yet how awesome it is at the same time is a credit to Streum's creativity and gameplay goals.

With E.Y.E. they made a game that's half out of this world and have total shit. If they could just get half-decent at the shit parts, they'd be making solid gold games. I'm hoping GW will stand over their shoulder a bit on this one in terms of quality-control and we'll end up with that kind of success.

But yeah. Four player co-op stomping around in derelict spaceships as a badass in gigantic power armor smashing through hordes of space bugs? Even if you push all the 40k lore to the side and say "Don't give a fuck" the core gameplay looks fucking awesome.

EDIT: Also when watching that video make sure to notice all the scenes in which the player's legs are damage

Literally the only reason video-games had 4 was because it made split screen better. also these terminators look mobile when the really are about as maneuverable as an old time dive suit.

hopefully its better then gears of ultrasmurf. Even it it just manages to be L4D in space it will be good.

i hope it has more depth and replayability than vermintide because it honestly looks a lot like it in terms of gameplay (ranged mob, regular mob, big tank mob)

Similar idea to Vermintide but completely different devs.

They mentioned having a lot of different lore and hidden shit stashed around the different Hulks and I want to say I heard something about procedurally generated missions and endless survival stuff being thrown around, so there's that too.

The only ones I can really tell apart are the Space Wolves, the Ultramarines, and the Salamanders.

I wish there were more Jolly destroyers and warriors of goodness. I admit a soft spot for the Lamenters even if they were kinda emo sometimes. Existence itself woudl shit on them, they'd make bad decisions and get royally fucked, but never stopped helping the people of the imperium and venerating the emperor.

Blood Ravens are the walking memes of the space marines behind ultrasmurfs due to the fact that their entire existance is just to """""SECURE""""""""""""" lost relics, regardless of who and what owns them. If the emperor owned an "ex-blood raven artifact" (in actuality all artifacts were once ex-blood raven.) they will reacquire it.

They became popular because Relic starred them in their dawn of war games, I don't know why myself, but it's more than likely because it's piss easy to make a plot for them, just say they're after dem relics.

And yes, I would rather play as Space Wolves since that's what I used to like but tbh i was more of a nid player myself so i would rather take the genestealers myself. One of my friends used to collect Blood Angels and I would get into arguements with him as to why Space Wolves were so much better than Blood Angels and looking back at that time of my life it was not pretty tbh.

Game does look pretty good, I just hope the coop game doesn't turn into a "gotta catch em all" ala Vermintide - L4D got coop gameplay right.
Really that ruined the game because every cunt would just grind the first level over and over again.

It makes sense. If you come into the contact with the warp regardless of intentions you are legible to get fucked by the inquisition unless you're actually an important figure. An ultrasmurf captain isn't really that important so he would get brought in. The most weird thing was just the Black Templar escort. Black Templar fundamentally hate the Inquisition as they are too big and too bureaucratic or something I don't really know the reason. The only faction of the Inquisition that the Black Templars are known to work with are the Monodominants who are basically human versions of the Black Templars. Loads of people in the Imperium also do not trust the Black Templars due to them firstly: Rejecting the fact that the Great Crusade has ended. Secondly: They do not conform to the Codex Astartes and lastly: They are extremely secretive, and extremely difficult to actually find due to not being homeworld based. In the end majority of Inquisitors just don't bother unless it's absolutely necessary or they have an ancient oath (which black templars take very, very seriously.) that they can call upon. In the end, most media and shit use the Black Templars because they're cool looking crusading types that invoke images of purity or whatever, but in cannon lore it would never happen like that. A Black Templar company would never be brought in to escort a Inquisitor and they would probably never work with one unless it was absolutely necessary, and since the Daemon Lord was dead...

In addition to all the stuff Colon mentioned there's the fact that one of your squadmates, I forget his name, the relatively new "by the book" guy finked on you to the inquisition personally. He even shows up WITH the inquisitor, with the inquisitor asking if he's certain etc. etc.

He'd been doubting the main smurf the whole game ("Sir this is unconventional/defies the CODEX ASTARTES) so he probably threw a fit and wrote a tearful letter to the Inquisition about the big mean captain defied the Codex Astartes and came into contact with a lot of warp stuff and defied the Codex Astartes and was in a 1v1 with a demon prince and he defied the Codex Astartes, also the inquisitor he followed around was a demon in disguise who played him, and he defied the Codex Astartes.

I find Lexicanum is much better than the 40k wiki in terms of amount of content. Less fun to read, but more complete information.

Generic power mauls are a relatively recent product of 40k power weapons diversifying in the last ruleset. Used to just all be power weapons, now power mauls, swords and axes all have different stats

don't be startled, colonic acid, half the "new factions" are just old factions they renamed because they couldn't copyright the name, or units from another faction they they pretend are a unique faction in case you want to shell out to buy enough of them to play with an incomplete codex. the only actualnew faction is like...the adeptus mechanus
