I'm still playing Hate Plus because I don't skip the 12 hour breaks, instead using them as the point where I call it a day and go to sleep. I already finished *Mute's route, I'm now playing the harem route and I'll probably do *Hyun-ae's route parallel to that.

The story in Hate Plus feels a bit more solid than the one in Analogue, because there's a much, much bigger picture and a lot more back-hand politics, scheming and general shenanigans going on. The duality between the political logs where decisions are made, and the private logs that show how those decisions impact the crew worked extremely well. But because I'm a dunce who didn't realize the logs are already ordered in chronological order in the source code, I had to reread all of them in order on the final day to finally get a full grasp on the story.

Also it was easier to see most of the plot twists coming (although that might be because I read the second-to-last log really early on)... Except for that one. That really fucked me up.

Man, I'm a bit disappointed with Chapter 3 so far. Whereas every quest in the first two chapters felt like it could be a it's own self-contained episode with interesting plot points, characters, and varied mechanics, Chapter 3 feels like that shitty part of an anime when it's just filler episode after filler episode.

Hope it picks up again soon.

Btw, has anyone tried out the new MGQ Paradox RPG? Is it any good?

Hey, the ending wasn't so bad.

It was just the first half of Chapter 3 that sucked. The rest was great! I was super glad they made the epilogue as big as it was.

Now comes the suffering waiting for the next game that doesn't seem like it's ever going to get translated any time soon. RIP.

i was playing dirty bomb.

this company Splash Damage, ever since they made Wolfenstein Enemy Territory (which was good)

they make 3/4ths of a good game then go full retard with the rest of it and ruin it. they did it with Brink and they're doing it with dirty bomb. there's 2 staff members actually working on the game right now. rest are porting gears of war

good: gunplay is nice, games are quick, gamemodes are novel and not bad, characters are all 'class-based' but all have their thing

bad: last character they released was so retarded they had to hotfix him, and then hotfixing him by making every melee weapon dickless, aimpunch is fucked, no anticheat, limited graphics settings for configs and shit optimization across the board, private servers are a shitshow or nonexistent (cardinal sin for a game that this developer and publisher has tried to push as an 'esport' or whatever internet nerd gamer buzzword), competitive mode is a shitshow, nexon publisher

this game has been in beta for two years and they have actually removed features & characters. of course the cash shop works. like you know overwatch is gonna come out? and it's probably gonna be a disappointment because it's a blizzard game post 2006? these guys had the longest time to get the jump on overwatch but instead of putting together a game that could steal the spotlight they just made this instead:

Theres custom .inis floating around that turn the grafics down to fucking minecraft mode. Unfortunately they're trying to patch that out because something something exploits.

But yeah overall they seem to be making the game worse and worse with each update. I still laugh at how their nerf to one specific class just made EVERYBODY completely incapable of melee.

Oh yeah the playerbase is full fucking retard too. Never before have I see a gaming community that survives solely on consuming elmer's glue. Expect to be the top of your team 100% of the time after your first match of figuring out the controls.

Valkyria Chronicles

I really like the game so far. Turn-based strategy game with individual characters that reminds me of Fire Emblem. The setting is a mix of WWII and fantasy anime magic. The story is a bit corny but that's expected from these sort of Japanese games.

But fuck that mission where you fight Max in his giant tank. Invincible one-hit-kill reinforcement gets 10+ moves and permakills all my officers in a single turn :^)

Fuck the controls, too.

I just ended up cheesing the mission. She stops moving around and killing people once she reaches Max. I used my tank as a shield for my soldiers because she can't hurt it and never bothers moving around it.

the world and graphics are beautiful but just when I was starting to think the quests were a lot more creative than killtenrats, I got a quest to killsixsquirrels. and ladybugs. and funghi.
