Hows the community? I played it a bunch last year but I stopped after constant retardation from marine commanders, and MUH LONE WOLF players on both sides. I figured there would be no more playerbase left by now.

Most of the time I played I had a friend of mine go marine commander and just babysit me with ammo packs because the rest of the team couldn't be trusted to do fuck all, and strangely it was the only rounds we ever won when we did that.

I have that game, it's nice but I'm shit at it.

For that game, nothing feels worse than getting ammo and health dropped on me as marine and still not killing anything. I try teamwork, but I'm mostly just an extra target for the enemy to shoot at. I'll just grab a welder and stand behind the mech suit, thank you very much

Huh. I never played this before, but I just downloaded it and it looks cool. Reminds me of tome. I don't like tome. The kind of roguelikes I typically play are dungeon crawl or wilderness survival roguelikes. Lore isn't important to me.

Elona's lore is pretty unimportant. The only actual important info you get out of it is about the Etherwind, which is a random weather that pops up every third month on a random day that will fucking ruin your life with random horrible mutations that are only cured by ridiculously expensive potions, which is also one of the only things that can potentially permanently kill your character unless that's been changed recently.
Its also not like most roguelikes. You die, but you just lose some of your inventory, money, and stats and get sent back home. There is a permadeath mode but I really don't recommend it as theres a lot of shit that will just kill you FNR.

It carries more of a jRPG feel to it, but still very much a roguelike.

I'm probably going to start streaming some shit sometime soon because of boredom. I had some people randomly watching my play Skyrim on steam so there's that.

The adventures of Neil the Orc Barbarian will commence soon. I installed a bunch of survival/realism mods, a bunch of ultraviolence blood and gore mods, and put the difficulty on legendary. We'll probably just get slaughtered by a bear as soon as we try to leave Riverrun but so be it.

EDIT: The multiple layers of blood and gore mods have caused some kind of violent singularity. I smashed a guy with a warhammer and his torso turned into mist while all his extremities rocketed in different directions.

There's no going back now.

(if you're playing along at home I'm using Dance of Death, Enhanced Blood Textures, and Deadly Mutilation)

i'd try VioLens instead of dance of death for a killmove mod. unlocks some of the ranged killmove animations that DoD doesn't + fixes some of the animations not matching with the weapons being used.

Skyrim looks fine enough already. I setup ENB for fallout and such but Skyrim doesn't really need it.

what are you talking about, skyrim is a really ugly game
the high res textures actually look awful because the lighting and effects do practically nothing for it, everything looks grainy and weird like you zoomed in on it close up and projected it on a larger surface
not to mention the general atmosphere of the game is grey/brown boringness
with ENB the game can look amazing, but vanilla looks horrid
