Anyone else excited for this? Finally getting some gameplay footage out of 2016 E3. The audio in this clip is just looping stage music (and it's pretty badass stage music) but the gameplay looks good:

Castlevania is one of my sacred trilogies of games (Castlevania, Monster Hunter, and Metal Gear) and it's nice to see the torch is still being carried despite Castlevania being prettymuch dead at this point (and Metal Gear too fml).

I've held off on backing the game so far because I've been burned too many times before, but I think seeing this has cracked my wallet open. Anyone else backed it, thought about it?

Any other Metroidvanias people enjoyed lately or looking forward to?

If you have them handy try playing OoC or PoR again. I replayed both of them not that long ago and Bloodstained seems to have the same speed/gravity those games do. I think it's just an Iga-vania thing. I definitely see what you mean though.

But like, watch this and look what happens when Shanoa jumps. If anything, Bloodstained is even less floaty than this.

Spoiler:
Who cares Charlotte is best Castlevania girl anyway

Shit that really does look a lot like Order of Ecclesia now that you mention it.

Based on what I've seen of the gameplay and the systems they've talked about it's like Iga is smashing Order of Ecclesia and Aria of Sorrow together.

Which is fucking perfect as far as I'm concerned.

Backed this game during the Kickstarter, I loved the GBA/DS Castlevania games. Backers are supposed to be getting the E3 demo at some point, but I haven't heard anything about it yet.

The creator of Ghost Song gave me a beta key a while back. I haven't played it for a long time, but Goddamn is it a beautiful and atmospheric game. I should fire it up again sometime and see what's been added.

There've been some decent Metroidvanias lately.

I really liked the new Momodora. It's short but there's a lot of really good story elements, pacing, and mood stuff in it. It's very high quality.
Axiom Verge was a thing that was good.
Shadow Complex got re-released in HD and if you've never played that before you definitely should. Great game.
I'm told Rabi-Ribi is actually really good but I don't have it and I can't stand the art style so WHO KNOWS.

Ghost Song does look really good too. Still waiting for that one to come together a bit more before I throw money at it though.

Haven't tried Momodora but I did finish Axiom Verge and Rabi Ribi recently, both are fucking EXCELLENT.

If you can handle the vomitingly cute nature of the game, Rabi Ribi is pretty solid metroidvania (that has arbitrary cutscenes that prevent you from sequence breaking too hard, yet I still managed to sequence break into the final chapter after like chapter 3 of 7 and permanently fuck my chance of a 100% run), and the bosses are more Touhou than anything giving it a pretty decent challenge.

Maybe I'm a just a pussy but there are some parts of Momodora's story that really made me feel pretty horrible/sad.

There're three or four little happenings (most of which were optional, I think) that made me feel like a piece of shit for doing a thing, not doing a thing, being part of a thing that happened, etc.
