I'm excited for this because I like Numenara as a setting, but never got very into it because I felt the RPG's mechanics were oversimplified and didn't create strong incentives due to the lack of advancement. Hopefully this game will be good and give me a second look at the setting.

I played Numenera in a group back on Bay.
Shit got boring fast imo.

Lack of meaningful advancement and most of the rules being "I'unno you make some shit up" will do that.

I've got this game's beta or whatever sitting in my library for who knows how long, I really should play it already.

You're supposed to wait for release.

There's been a tidal wave of early access butthurt over dropped features that were deemed dealmaking/breaking in the inXile Shitstarter Campaign. There's no clear case what these features are, though, or if it's too far past the finish line for retroactive patching. Still sitting on my hands and waiting for a blind first experience on full release.

Good god there's so much writing. I'm standing right outside the tutorial area and almost 90 minutes have passed.

If you're going with Nano, take the mind reading perk. It should probably be fun in the long term, helping you uncover some plots and intrigues.

The stealth sequence in

The stichus caves
Wasn't well done. The mechanics were uninspired and the "surprise twist" with certain things revealing you amounted to a giant fuck you with no way of predicting it. Incredibly easy once all the mechanics are understood, feels like dumb bullshit until they are. That's just piss-poor design.
