I have a questions about the voting system.

Is there anyone that cannot vote?
What type of voting will this be (for example True Proportional representation with a single vote)?

Anyone who is banned cannot vote.

I'm thinking the easiest would be an initial vote, then holding a run off vote with the top 3 or so (depending on how the distribution ends up).

It was a joke that we found funny at the time but got out of hand pretty quick.

I never expected anyone to donate, but people are cool I guess.

It was entirely to do with the dumb comment I made. That wasn't a joke though.

Which is funny, since coderbus wants to be autonomous they shouldn't get any representation in adminbus in the slightest. They want representation? Lose some of that autonomy and you can get representation. I don't want some country in china to run my county when I can't do shit to affect them; so why the fuck do coderbus get to vote for a headmin?

It's my opinion that Sticky wouldn't be a good fit as head admin. There wasn't any single event that brought this about.

Admins are GMs, GMs generally haven't had much of a say over the actual content of the game.

In our case, gamemins and headmins are kinda limited in their powers, they don't control the code, they don't control the content of the game, they don't control the web site, they don't control the forums.

They control the game, or rather the round. They control the round, who's allowed to participate in it and how they are allowed to participate.

Admins deal with the card's they are given, coders/mappers are the one's to decide on game content.

The only real stop there is if SoS decides to not update the server files.

This is what occurs when you separate the departments/areas into separate entities. There are advantages, but the disadvantage is that game balance is held in the hands of a small group that don't have to actually associate themselves with the server (Even though for all intents and purposes they are).

Read the notice on the main web page or the OP...

Anyways, on the subject of coders and representation. Admins are almost always the first ones to sound the alarm on negatively game changes. I would think that with SoS giving his choice to the coders that he's hoping to have the coders be held more accountable, but also have more input beyond just what they code.

So perhaps a complete separation of powers is what is needed.

Because that happened before, we lost two forums, literally all of coderbus at least three times and most of the good admins.

Integrated power structure 2015.

Round 1 unofficial results:

Code: Select all

+-------+-------------+
| votes | candidate |
+-------+-------------+
| 45 | AN0n3 |
| 41 | Bluespace |
| 39 | Ikarrus |
| 39 | Hornygranny |
| 23 | Pandarsenic |
| 13 | MisterStaub |
| 4 | Comrade Leo |
+-------+-------------+
Per-request i will be running a query to detect and ignore multiple votes by one user and will be updating this with the results.

A run off vote is currently queued to run with the top 4 people, and will show up in the game server once sos adds it.

Wow, that's a lot of votes for just the weekend, I'm impressed. I'm betting on an0n3/ikarrus/HG which is not that bad of a headmin team the more I think about it. They're all super oldfag.

EDIT: Whoops I think I misconstrued what you're talking about.

If you're talking about a TOTAL prediction of

Player vote: AN0n3
Admin vote: Ikarrus
Coder vote: HornyGranny

Then yeah I can see that happening and working out really well.

I stand by my opinion that voting for Ikkarus is voting for heavy handed "roleplay" and "play my way" administration.

Hornygranny is HBL v2.

Bluespace wont get any respect from anyone in current administration and will have little impact.

Also find it hilarious that out of 7 candidates 4(!) are going to second round. Over half. Democracy ho, that tied vote.

I offer no endorsements, but I will say in the interests of both the admin team and playerbase, of which their respective headmins are meant to represent, do not vote HG for player headmin and create a coderbus majority over all headmin decisions.

Re: Headmin Election General

Well, technically speaking we aren't sure it's a two-way tie for 3rd.

If even one person used a second ckey to vote for either candidate twice it breaks the tie and we'll have a proper runoff between the top 3.

Hell for all we yet know all of my votes could've come from a very enthusiastic Tonto.
