ARE YOU READY FOR SOME DEMOCRACY?

OK guys, SoS has given me the go ahead to start the ball rolling on the headmin election. As agreed upon in these two threads: http://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1635 and http://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=1655 there will be three elected headmins. One elected by the players, one elected by the coders, one elected by the admins.

IMPORTANT: The player vote will be happening before the admins and coders vote. The admins have already begun discussing how we will decide on our headmin triumvirate champion, I plan on talking with coderbus to make sure they've got an idea of how they want to handle things. Please remember that only ONE of the candidates in this poll will be elected, who will then work with the other two headmins decided by the coders and admins after it is done.

This thread (and the forum) is serving to primarily facilitate the player vote. Please keep in mind all candidates which are nominated (either by themselves or by someone else) will be voted on by the player base. If they are to not win, they can still be elected by the coders or admins. The coders and admins may also elect someone who did not run for the player vote.

In this thread make your nominations (you can nominate yourself), if someone is nominated and accepts the nomination they are then invited to make a separate thread in the temporary election subforum (http://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=38) with the subject line "HEADMIN CANDIDATE: [insert name]", this thread will then be linked in this post below. Aside from nominations, this thread will also serve as the place to discuss the election generally, discussion and endorsements of candidates should be limited to the candidate threads and the general player discussion thread (http://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=1739).

The nomination period is now over.

The first round of voting is taking place NOW (Friday the 24th to Sunday the 26th) a run off vote of the top contenders will then take place immediately after for the next three days. After these two votes take place, we will have our player elected head administrator!

Per-request i will be running a query to detect and ignore multiple votes by one user and will be updating this with the results.

Post clean up results:
In sort: Excludes new accounts and throwaway/idle accounts who have not played much or at all d. Also excludes all admin and .txt coder votes. While this is likely to catch some false positives, none of them will be active players.

A run off vote is currently queued to run with the top 4 people, and will show up in the game server once sos adds it.[/s]

Doesn't really matter either way, it's about who accepts and decides to actually run that matters.

Also, if you nominate yourself, feel free to make a thread right away, same with accepting a nomination. No one has to wait for me to put them on the list for you to do that (I'm pointing this out as I will sleep at some points this weekend). The list is just to be as the central hub for players to check out prior to voting.

To be entirely honest, I did not expect any non-admins to be nominated/nominate themselves as they have to go up against tried and true current admins. No one in adminbus objects to the idea, so I'm not going to prevent it unless SoS disagrees.

Due to the vote being held ingame, it isn't possible (unless I'm wrong here) to prevent coders or admins voting in it.

I'm going for the oldfag trifecta of Anon3, Ikarrus, and HornyGranny - he and I haven't seen eye to eye in the past but atleast he's not a pathetic handholding dweeb like the rest of the administratum

I'd nominate Aurx... but he's a headmin on vg already, so that would be weird.

I'm pretty sure you confessing to being Hitler is having the opposite effect in people's minds. It's exactly like saying 'trust nobody, not even me' in the movies, and then the hero trusts them and gets backstabbed.

No need to nominate people already on the list. All nominees are being notified by me and asked to either accept and make a thread or reject.

Everyone I like is already up there, so basically my entire post was to make that joke.

I'd say that's up to the respective groups to decide. Personally, there's quite a few admins who also code who I think should have a say in our vote, plus I can imagine the coders may want the input of the codermins.

I'd like to nominate paprika, they are really cool and do a lot of shit around here that nearly everyone else is afraid of doing because of all the flak you get from it.

I honestly don't know if that was a serious nomination or not. Please keep in mind I've been gone for a while.

I'll pass either way. I won't be able to find the time to remove fun from the game as a coder if I'm an admin.

Is there any limit to admins campaigning for themselves in OOC?

I hereby deny my nomination. Too many things going on in real life. Maybe I'll run next term.

Nope. Though I and others admins will spam the link to this thread in OOC quite a bit. Plus SoS is is making the thread into the MOTD/has done this already.
