no bullshit policy talks, no bullshit populace responses. im tired of reading your cookie cutter no-rough-edges responses in all the debate threads. give me your music tastes. give me your half-baked opinions on each other's music.

what albums have you been listening to? what artists do you like? what artists do you like and hate at the same time? do you just straight up despise some music?- now's the time to get it off your chest.

i'll try to rate all of your music tastes as brutally honest as i can. i have extremely pretentious music tastes, so fair warning. feel free to be pretentious towards my music tastes. at the end of the day it's all personal opinions. there is no such thing as being objective in this thread.

Specifically, these songs:
-No Spill Blood
-Dead Man's Party

well i KNOW i can google the band, but i wanna know WHY you like the band and why their songs stick out to you. i like talking about music i think it's interesting.

anyhow, the songs you listed sound great and they've got some really unique sounds. but i feel like the rely on that as a crutch too much. the songs themselves are pretty milquetoast. it felt like they were too scared to experiment on more than just one thing at a time. even no spill blood- which i consider probably the most "Offensive" song out of the ones you listed- still feels really samey the entire way through the song. it didn't really surprise me. i guess that's why i like punk a lot. even then im pretty picky.

pretentiousness outta the way, they've got a really nice sound and they definitely know that's their strong suit.

I like a lot of musicals. I also like a lot of weird indie shit, essentially spotify started suggested weird indie crap and I liked it and so we started a vicious circle. Here is my entire 'liked songs': https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5MUfA ... 29d4f24ba0

I also have weird music habits. I listen to music while I work. Normally I will go through my spotify suggested until I find a song I like. I will then listen to it on repeat for like a week, until it goes into my backlog of songs.

Playlist for when I don't want the happier songs: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3na1W ... 91858e432d

When I don't feel like listening to either of those I just listen to vietnam war era songs...

I don't listen to many entire albums, but The Black Parade is a really good concept album, and by far the best one made by MCR.

I hate 99% of country music, except for those ones that are unreasonably catchy and go way harder than they should.

I like falling in reverse but hate that I do since the lead singer is a terrible person.

I skimmed through your playlists, you share some music tastes with me, and your playlists seem all over the place like mine. Gotta say, slightly concerned for your mental health with Cuban Pete and Killing in the Name in the same playlist, but I vibe with it.

I'll give a short list because I'm not a playlist enjoyer.

Recently it's been a lot of MF DOOM, 100gecs, Kendrick Laamar, Olivia Rodrigo, chelmico, Ozma, Dude, My Dude, and Death Grips.

But I constantly look for new things.

I used to be a WEEZER ENJOYER.

Ok this is probably not going to be a very satisfying answer, this is going to be milquetoast as heck. But I will listen to almost anything from any genre. Everything in this thread? Good and based and beautiful. I am in college for music, nearly every human organized sound has some musical value and can be appreciated. Music is a universal phenomenon, not a universal language.

What I personally listen to however, is usually vibeogame ost's, weeb stuff, musicals, classicals, or any oddity in-between. My main playlist includes things such as: Sheena Easton, The Beach Boys, several One Piece tracks, a bunch of random videogame ost selections that stuck out to me, a single Lucille Ball track, The inventor of Surf Rock Dick Dale, etcetera.

Shout out to blasting trumpet sections or fast violin sections, much love.

Bones by Imagine Dragons is the only good song that has ever been released ever.

In all seriousness, I have a huge list of artists and styles I'm a fan of. Anything from videogames I've played recently of course, I'm into Blind Guardian when it comes to metal since I love the idea of combining story and song, and I like AWOLnation as my preferred alt rock band but their newest stuff hasn't been great (Knights of Shame is a good album tho). One of my favourite solo artists is currently DM Dokuro, known for doing a lot of fanmade videogame OSTs, he's been recently delving into using his own personal traumas to fuel his art and it's fantastic, super emotional.

collective soul - heaven's already here
stone temple pilots - interstate love song
CAKE - sheep go to heaven
ween - tried and true
the flaming lips - she don't use jelly
dr. dog - where'd all the time go?

i tend to jump from genre to genre every few months. this is just what i've come back to recently. i like stuff from 50's-60's country to 2010's folk punk to japanese jazz fusion to that alt rock shit your dad keeps listening to.

YOOOOOOO MISCHIEF BREW. i LOVE mischief brew.

THAAAANKS BASTAAARDS, YA MADE ME WHAT I AM!

anyhow, love coffee god and cigarettes. one of my favorites of his. his voice is so growly. you just know that he smoked an ENTIRE pack of cigarettes before recording.
