One day, I will break a cultist, or gangster.

I will go to the depths of pain.
The darkest corners of punishment.

And hopefully, I can penetrate the barrier where my captive has no choice.
The only choice is me. And one day I hope to break someone to the point they talk.

Tell me everything.

Case 11;
Retirement.
It's was an awful shift so far.
Bullets flying.
Dead bodies all over the place.
Morale was falling.
One guy couldn't take it anymore.

"I want to quit HOS"
Retire.
No longer sec.
New job.
Had enough.

Sadly this is something I can't control.
He's already got a job lined up.
Wants to retire to a quiet medbay job.
There's a lack of doctors and the CMO wants more.
She wants him.

I've got plenty more officers.
I won't stop their blossoming relations.
And I want a man closer to the CMO.
It's settled.
He can retire.

He comes in and hands over his vest, badge, and gun.
Retirement.
I take away property of the brig.
Hand him a red beret to remind him of what he is.
And I slip him a laser gun.

He's going to want that.
And with the ceremony concluded, he takes a long walk from the brig.
I pass by the medbay later.
I see him and her getting along, and keeping medbay well oiled.
Retirement for old cops.

But from around the corner someone stalks.
The harbinger of death.
He takes several potshots at her, and she falls.
Immediately my retiree returns fire.
That's my officer.

He returns with a burnt out corpse of our cowardly shooter.
Aren't you glad you didn't stay retired?
We stabilise her.
She chastises him for keeping a gun.
But deep down.

She's happy there's more competent doctors.

Case two is one of the few times I've felt even a little bit sorry for a prisoner as security. I'd rather be permaed or executed. I supported him since they had a pretty dumb excuse for major trespass and doublessly an attempt a grand theft though.

it was one of my most memorable moments where I really saw my security officers react with "holy shit this hos" in their mind.

remember no perma or execution if you cooperate.

the idea of punishing someone's friend, having them hurt eachother, and forcing them to work against eachother is straight out of 1984 tier punishment.

great book, one of my person favourites I keep in my drawer

Case 12;
"Sorry".
It was an annoying shift.
All sorts of crew getting into disturbed habits.
I search areas for where scum loiter.
And I see a bloodied shadow try to hide.
Dragging a braindead, dying man.

Absolutely not.
I take him down and secure him.
This mime is bloodied.
And silent.
And I feel a cold shudder come upon me.

This must be a changeling.
Securing him, I go to warm up.
I collect the victim and I investigate.
The victim was bound.
And he had little on him.

I question this creature I've captured.
He denies it all.
Says the victim was a changeling.
All lies.
His bottle is bloodied and smashed.

I know what's happened.
I'm powerless to prove it.
He's even got the a second pair of cable cuffs on his belt.
Lying through his teeth.
But I can't kill him.

I know what he did.
He bottled the victim over the head.
Cuffed him whilst he was down.
And began trying to kill him.
He had nothing to slip his "attacker".

I implant him and make it very clear.
His mission is over.
I am watching him.
I can kill him at any time.
He is heavily under suspicion.

He goes his way silently.
When another prisoner shows up to my brig.
The CMO.
Full of traitorous goods.
I can't kill this guy.

I implant him with his own drugs.
I bargain with him.
I listen to his concerns.
I listen to his future.
I give him what he wants.

Sorry.
He apologises for what he's done.
And trusts me.

He goes on his way.
Another enemy shows up.
Spacesuit and tools.
Steals my armoury.
And clumsily defends himself.

Searching through space, I see him with several corpses.
I capture him.
Immediately he submits.
I won't kill him.
I bring him back.

Sorry.
He apologises for what he's done.
And begs me to spare them.

He wants the same thing as the CMO.
The reflector vest.
I take everything he's gotten.
Every traitorous tool he has.
And I get him his vest.

Remember me.
For all my mercy.
And give those mercy as I have given to you.
Treat others as you want to be treated.
And shifts will be better this way.

I release them.
But something kills them.
Was it my own officer?
Was it the singulo?
Was it the space carp?

I try so desperately to clone them in time.
But the clones have no heart.
And I don't have enough time.
I'm sorry.
I wanted everyone to succeed and smile.

And I want the shifts to be better for everyone.

Case 13;
"Stolen honour".
A cuffed individual is brought into my brig.
I don't recognise the arresting officer.
It isn't an officer.
It isn't security.
It's an assistant.

He accuses the cuffed invidivual of various crimes.
But the cuffed individual denies all of it.
The word of the HOP against the word of an assistant.
This assistant isn't security.
He's claiming be security.

I have no respect for those that claim my badge.
Without actually serving my badge.
He claims the HOP was harassing assistants.
He claims the HOP was abusing them.
And he claims he stepped in because.

Because he was an assistant.
I am infuriated.
I detain them and find a plethora of stolen goods.
He claims they aren't his.
He claims he isn't an enemy.

All I see is an enemy.
Pretending to be my friend.
And falsely representing me.
I take away everything.
I take away his access.

The sight of all of his actions.
And his stolen honour.
He goes catatonic.
Why can't you just do your job?
Instead of trying to do mine?

In later reports, I discover he was a Changeling.

Horny Granny did that once when I arrested him for trying to space his target through one of the solar airlocks as a traitor. Fortunately the AI bolted him in the room before he could do so. After he went catatonic he ordered another admin to ban the AI for "harming him by locking him in with a murderous detective".

Because slapping him with a non lethal baton and cuffing him totally shows murderous intent.

Medical Documents - Love and Care.

Post by J_Madison » #317905

People often distrust doctors.
Unwilling to go into sleepers.
Constantly demanding the medical supplies.
Why ask so many questions?
You aren't in a good position to question the care.

The tragedy is not dying.
But rather to be wasted.
A dead man is just a corpse.
But there is so much potential after death.
Brains, arms, legs, blood. All valuable.

Bad chemists cause more demand on my work.
None of them make any medicines.
All they do is make drugs.
And dangerous and hazardous chemicals.
The dispensers are filled with medical goods.

Loss of limbs and loss of blood are the most upsetting.
Incompetent medical staff drive the patients insane.
But quickly people learn to trust me.
Appreciate my work.
For I can fix anything.

Non-lethal fun.
Do no harm.
I try to prevent deaths when possible.
But some deaths aren't a right to consciousness.
Settle down there. The morphine should calm you down.
-
There was a man who was arrested and put with me.
He was rugged, angry, and defiant.
Only death could release him he thought.
Physical torture wouldn't affect him.
But he's a little teapot short and stout.
This is his handle.
This is his shock.
When he hears these words, hear him shout.
Pour him over and melt his heart.

Re: HOS diaries - pain and punishment

Post by J_Madison » #318731

Case 14;
Gang.
Today will be a good shift.
Three good officers.
Elite combat qualifications. Top of their class.
I need not tell them what to do.
For they already know what and how to do it.

Quiet whispers of paint in the dark.
Little whispers of gang activity.
One of them tries to stick my men.
But finds himself surrounded and taken down.
We are outnumbered.

Numbers don't mean anything against quality and coordination.
We snatch several useful staff and make them ours.
Before anyone can react, I swiftly assault our next objective.
Cargo.
Everyone is implanted there.

Welcome to our world.

The word is given.
My three elite, and my subordinates fall in to cargo.
Quietly, the brig's goods vanish and appears in cargo.
Swept clean.
Now begins our implanting.

Implants are ordered left right and centre.
We must stop the flow of gangs.
I organise my men into two teams.
My guards and my snatch squad.
Medical is first.

Heading into medbay, I order my guards to ransack everything.
My snatch squad opens fire in anything that isn't implanted.
Quickly the staff scatter, but their job is done.
My elite trio drags back three doctors, all petrified.
None of them were gang.

They were just caught in the crossfire.

These doctors are afraid now.
I can only give them the medical supplies and ask they do their job.
The dreaded squad causes everyone to scatter.
Like a reaper, they drag their freshly kidnapped victims for implanting.
One of them begs for me to intervene and save them.

That's enough. I'll take this cat.
She is absolutely petrified.
My trio are the best of the best.
But who controls them now?
Is it me, or is it them?

I focus on implanting and retrieving items of interest to my base.
The snatch squad prowl for their next prey.
Anyone that doesn't surrender and submit immediately are executed.
Fewer detainees are brought back.
Just corpses.

Until a fatal mistake is made.
My guards were not present.
With the future of being the last gangster remaining.
He pulls the pin of a grenade.
Walks towards us.

When I wake, my trio is no longer.
They are a duo.
In their fury, we evacuate the blown out base.
But I can't control them anymore.
Anyone not implanted is shot and killed.

Nobody questions us now.
Do we protect and serve the innocents?
Or do the innocents serve us for protection?
If we want to truly fight and stop gangs.
Then why do we become the gang ourselves?

And the innocent staff.
The real victims of a gang war.
Caught in the crossfire.

Case 15;
Coup.
Today is a strange shift.
So many catty individuals, all fixated on eachother.
Revolutionaries are called out on the station.
But none resist the implantation.
Promotions are given out to serve as our reserve force.

So soon the prisoners arrive, does another.
The captain is meddling in security affairs.
Interrupting the brigging procedure.
Threatening my demotion.
Releasing clear criminals.

This goes on long enough.
This captain is incompetent and disruptive.
I call a meeting of all security members at our holy land.
The captain is too far up his own business to acknowledge or attend.
His fatal mistake.

On the shout of the rascal.
The coup has begun.
The station is our castle.
Our coup is won.
Nobody objects.

Each security officer acknowledges the existance of the plot.
None object.
The successor is chosen.
The HOS approves.
The die is cast.

The captain brings another prisoner.
He swiftly intervenes in our gulagging procedure.
Our time is being wasted.
This is a perfect opportunity.
He doesn't suspect anything as he smugly prevents our security workings.

One baton strike and he falls to the ground.
Confused and in a daze.
I strike his mouth.
No words could be spoken.
I tie his arms.

I strip him of himself.
I brief to him his future in our hands.
He holds no power.
I am the captain now.
This swift coup is not noticed by the AI who is distracted.

Putting him away, I put him to sleep.
No chance of a counter-revolution.
Anyone he released or is loyal to him is marked for death.
The successor to his power, the HOP is crowned.
Long live the king.

Woe for the captain and his loyalists so few.
When my loyal security crushes them undershoe.
Taken prisoner and left to rot.
Either that or I'd have him shot.
How wondered the captain, looking at his power fall.

When a calm usurper and his men becomes master of it all.

This thread is proof that banning ERP was a bad idea, sexual tension always builds up over the course of a round and people will inevitably find different ways to release it, such as BDSM or other weird fetishes

I think sec players should be more open to talk about their experiences.

So many sec players every year burnout and these stories are to tell them that they're not alone and their dark thoughts and willingness to abuse authority when playing sec for a long time is not uncommon and lots of us are in the similar situation.

Case 16;
Clockwork.
The clown was given chemistry access, and was brewing some sort of concoction.
The chemist wasn't fond of this and not was I, there also wasn't a CMO present which meant the HOP is handing access out.
I go to throw the clown it but I slip on the pda he left out. Fortunately the chemist was supportive of my situation.
I don't trust this HOP to remove the Chemistry access without being a pain in the ass to deal with. I'm confiscating both ID and PDA.
He can get a new set from the HOP, right?

Nope. This clown is a real pain to work with.
"Give ID!" Is all he spouts and follows me around.
Go get a new one from the HOP you subhuman.
"GIVE ID!!!" He spouts. There's some sort of limited vocabulary and intelligence present with him.
He activates the fire alarms and starts smashing glass windows to get my attention.

I waste no time and stick him in cuffs.
Give ID give ID give ID is all he spouts.
My security team reports of clockwork cultists on the station.
This clown is dead weight and I don't want to deal with him anymore. He could have just gotten a new ID.
I stick his face in the toilet bowl and hold it there, strangling and choking him on the toilet whilst I smash the seat into his neck.

The day the clown finally cried. His tears lost in the toilet water.
I hit up medbay and I deal with another breakin to chemistry.
Why, assistant, why.
This one is also a waste of time to deal with. Orders given to implant working and employed crew first.
I leave this excuse of an employee in the same room as a mega space carp. His death was an accident.

We begin our raids on departments and suspects are brought back.
A geneticist tucks something into his trousers as I arrive.
I ask kindly he comes with me. And he does, for a brief moment.
In a struggle he lashes out, makes a spin, and makes contact with my baton.
Cuffs on, both legs in the seat at all times, arms behind the back, and away we go.

He was a cultist. A bad one too. Shamefully tucking his tools into his clothes.
Filled with holy water, his god's link to him slowly fades from his mind.
In frustration of his failure and lack of memory, after we release him and implant him he promptly twists his neck. Killing himself.
Everyone is rounded up, brought to the drink and implanted.
Nobody threatens the station. Every threat is neutralised.

However the chaplain has other plans. We kept him around only for his blessing.
But he's pushing his luck and becoming an absolute pain to deal with.
A waste of time really. He's starting fights and stealing, and his luck his pushed too far.
Cease.
But he pulls his own gun out and cuffs me. And he raises his pitchfork and begins swinging.

Fortunately, the loyal favour me. And he's brought to cuffs. Never seen again.
I take his pitchfork.
With no threat to the station we begin work on a DNA vault.
Among the stampede are radiation spewing mechs and a miniature coup in progress.
I take the dead to be cloned, and calm the station from disaster.

With disaster averted, another disaster consumes the station.
A blob. A trivial threat to my crew. It's mesh is quickly disassembled and broken down.
At last the shuttle arrives and we board the shuttle.
With constant early launches and repeals, I tase all of the interlopers and demand they cease.
And the shuttle leaves for our final destination, and my payday.

Case 17;
Taxation.
Whenever criminals commit a crime they're always seeking ways to get off lightly.
Sometimes they really push the boundaries of light. I've divided a system of tax of confiscation for them.
Every crime has a price and a debt to pay. A form of bail.
Everyone wants to be paid of course, but sometimes you're left with a debt after committing a crime.
Sure it's easy to kill the Clown and rob the chef to pay me, but what happens when the money runs out?

At this point you need to own a mean of production and inject money.
There's a sort of inflation going on. I'll tax the medkits you've gotten scouring maint for a lower sentence.
But what happens when we have too many insulated gloves? It becomes devalued. Worthless.
Of course the natural thing to do work the debt back but what if I don't want to employ you?
The answer is simple, I take you and make you my means of production.

You are going to sell yourself.

I think sec players should be more open to talk about their experiences.

So many sec players every year burnout and these stories are to tell them that they're not alone and their dark thoughts and willingness to abuse authority when playing sec for a long time is not uncommon and lots of us are in the similar situation.
I'm sure you're helping them with their fantasies and deep dark secrets, theres no doubt about it

Space law (If that's what you're quoting) is fluff J_mad, aside from that, you talk big on wholesome gameplay and sportsmanship, but stealing from crew WILL make them collectively more angry at you, and some might even get impatient and shove an explosive spear up security's ass and put a grey flag on the end.

I think removal of contraband, taxation of items, and a stern warning is enough and sometimes preferred and accepted over time in brig or gulag.

In addition, it's common to "reset" people who've been caught red handed. This reset essentially reverts them back to their start of shift equipment or less.

Far more merciful than death or detention.

Get at me. You're reading great stories and memories.
Most of these incidents were enjoyed by players on both sides.

I have changed how people play the game and pushed for great leaps in player and roleplay attitude.

In nearly all of my stories the person under my care and protection never ahelped and in OOC enjoyed the experience and described them as memorable.

Basil has become more wholesome throughout.

Unfortunately it is impossible to please everyone and I have to make sacrifices to people's fun, and very often I gallantly sacrifice my own fun for the better of others. However it isn't possible to please everyone. Sometimes you have to break some eggs to make an omelette.

The greater good is those that actively contribute to the community and the shifts in general have more fun. I think the merits of an individual is measured on their contribution and ability to contribute and thus sometimes I have to sacrifice the fun of players that contribute little to no fun and have no ability to contribute to ensure other players have fun.

that's rich coming from someone whose name can't be googled. Ad homs aren't the way to go, but saying "Google demonfiren" in OOC is enough to get you banned for posting porn in the chat.
