Why isn't there a 'steal the nuke' objective for traitors?

Better question - Why isn't "Set off the nuke" a second objective?

Why doesn't the syndicate always replies to their operatives? It makes them feel sad and unappreciative. :(

We apologize for our slow responses. Those responsible have been fired at, and their boarding action is being repelled as we speak.
Mono wrote:Are the syndicate involved in the blobitis disease getting aboard the station? And are you in league with the wizards federation?
No, and not officially. But we sometimes trade with them.
Cipher3 wrote:Yeah, why do the wizards have a syndicate wall-mounted intercom in their den? Why?!
You ever see a Wizard crytographer or engineer? I didn't think so.
Cipher3 wrote:Wait, wait, wait. MORE IMPORTANTLY, why do you always give your nuclear agents the ONE nuclear device that requires them to tear through half the station in order to acquire from its captain?
You don't see it when we give them both. Those ones land on the solars, plant it, and peace out in three minutes. Game over man. Game. Over.
paprika wrote:Why isn't there a 'steal the nuke' objective for traitors?
Where are you gonna put it?
Psyentific wrote:Better question - Why isn't "Set off the nuke" a second objective?
We don't always want the entire station turned into an irradiated space hulk.
srifenbyxp wrote:Why doesn't the syndicate always replies to their operatives? It makes them feel sad and unappreciative. :(
Transmission errors, lack of personnel on duty to respond to them, mis-sends (e.g. a CyberSun operative's communication reaching the Marauders), etc.

(And, OoCly, because at least for me, prayers, messages to CentCom, and Syndicate Sends don't make any sound, so I often miss them)

Ever get assigned as a Caucasian male captian and arrive as a female assistant? No? Pity.
But have you ever been assigned to be a mime or a clown and be taller, shorter, fatter or darker/lighter than normal?

God dabm they fix that thing fast...

Is our R&D project just secretly a commercial factory machine which is just kinda using redundant equipment. Because ya know man I see how advanced you lot at Nanotrasen are and I seriously think we are just helping you to create really cheap commercial products to sell.

I mean we dont even look at the components which make the device work its all self sealed! Whats up with that?

Thomas Heeren says quietly, "W-w-what model of w-waterwall are y-you using to h-hack AIs to complete your needed objectives at any cost?
I-I d-d-don't want o-one or a-anything for my AI..."
Thomas Heeren looks a little too innocent for a moment.

Well, you people have achieved the impossible. In two posts you have made me deeply amused and confused at the same time.

Anyways, my question.

Are the being known as a "Changeling" under your employ? If so, how do you prevent these beings from causing casualties among your staff?
In addition, where can I get those black spacesuits with markings on them? They look awesome, and the ability to beat someone black and blue while wearing black and blue...

Changelings are sometimes taken as contractors.

The spacesuits can be gained by similarly engaging in a contract with us...

The Syndicate are capable of sending in shoes that negate physics, Micro-sized crossbows with there own power generation effects, And devices that outright control how singularities work.

Remind me again why you worry about Nanotrasen? You literally have tech that is miles above them.

Not above - different. The miniaturized energy crossbow doesn't have its own generator; it pulls energy from the surrounding area but has a low shot limit. The singularity beacon is a device that creates a false gravitational signature that affects the loose singularity, but that's derived from recovered Nanotrasen technology.

And seriously dude the shoes just have extra grip. They're not that impressive. It's simple materials work that Nanotrasen hasn't bothered investing in.

Our explosives can't come close to plasma-oxygen reactions, we rely heavily on ballistics instead of energy weapons, and telecrystals are only a crude imitation of Nanotrasen's telescience laboratories.

Dear Syndicate,

Why do you need corgi meat?

If I steal everything of value on the station, can I mail it to you somehow in exchange for that cool edgy scented soap you have?

Speaking of which, do you have fear-scented candles?

And finally, is it true you are run by cats?

Dear Syndicate, why do you not provide your nuclear operatives with the Sleeping Carp scroll? Surely a martial art that lets you deflect all projectiles, when combined with supreme speed from stimpacks and a weapon of high lethality such as an e-sword would make acquiring the nuclear authentication disk much easier?
Likewise, why not grant your infiltrators CQC manuals?

Traitors work hourly under contract; nuclear operative are salaried. In addition to pay rate complications and stuff, you may remember a few items have different prices, and then as full-time employees you get some other perks... it's a whole thing. I'll get Barry from legal for ya in a bit.

You mean the SCSBC-12?

That class of cruiser's pretty rare now that the Syndicate have scaled up their defences. More rural and exploratory sectors, however, still encounter this class of cruiser, occasionally in an upgraded form.

Might want to get searching because I have a bounty on the thing.

TheRex9001 wrote: Fri Apr 07, 2023 10:07 am Are the ARC furries?
Not everyone invested in the well-being of animals is a furry! Some people just don't see animals as a lesser form of life, undeserving of consideration for their feelings. Humanocentric attitudes result in not just their suffering, but their needless suffering. Why send cubed monkeys to be slaughtered when your chemistry lab can produce synthmeat or your botanical lab can produce meatwheat, which are both chemically indistinguishable once cooked? Apathy. Because when you reduce these monkeys to, as NT ethicists call them, "simple mobs," it's easy to dismiss the pain they feel as they are butchered, often alive. It's the same anthrochauvinism that permits NT to continue genetics research on the so-called "soulless monkey-humans." To be other, in Nanotrasen, is to be lesser, as reflected in their lax attitudes toward actually addressing the officially forbidden but in practice all-too-common racial discrimination on their stations.

But also yeah like at least 25% of ARC are furries. Maybe more. This is still a smaller percentage than Nanotrasen employees, according to scraped ID-linked search histories from those new tablets NT rolled out, so take from that what you will.
