real plot of ss13

SS13 is about my character that is only imagining ss13 he is the strongest fighter in sonic military academy and he killed his friend on accident and went insane they locked him up in an insane asylum and ss13 is his hallucinations tbh (if you watch ss13 closely you can see hints that director placed that point to this)

my character's a ligger btw that's how he is so strong

Best explanation I heard was that while SS13 was really abandoned/destroyed, what your seeing is one of many different interpretations of how the station was lost.

my explanation is "space station 13" is just the designation for whichever rickety piece of shit nanotrasen is using to research plasma, which is why the map changes sometimes or the station gets blown up and rebuilt.

Yeah, I belive in Crag explaination, but with a small change - Space Station 13 is not the name of the station, but a designation for a certain type of smallish (max about 100 people) multi-purpose stations (in that it's not just, say, large R&D or botany or whatever and 5x5 tile other departments) that NT builds to lure syndicate away from it's more important operations (wherever DS stuff and all that comes from).

That actually makes sense, they just dump toxic dweebs with lower-than-average IQ and delusions of grandeur to SS13 and tell them it's a super important secret plasma research facility.
Explains how DA functions, too - an intern is sitting in Centcomm watching crap that SS13 "scientists" "deconstruct" and uploads design data to SS13 server.

Why is the Death Squad so similar in function to Nukeops (Except nukeops get to choose their own equipment, while DS uses standardized yet more powerful stuff)? Maybe, at syndicate research stations, crewmembers are working in fear of sudden attack by Nanotrasen Death Squad that wants to destroy their station, while workers at SS13 fear the day Syndicate Nuclear Operatives arrive and destroy their station.

If I knew how to sprite and mape I'd make an Away mission to an actual research Syndie Station with reversed colour schemes and bizarro counterparts to everything. Like their security wearing blueshirts and using e-bows. Assistants being the same because they're a universal constant.

A Syndicate station would be a really cool concept actually, but it would have to be radically different than the NT version we know now to account for the fluff.
