Why are races with blatant disadvantages allowed to play in a combat based role where the chain is was strong as it's weakest link?


This clearly shouldn't be tolerated. This is on par with griefing. Akin to allowing bipolars in key military positions.


There should not be digitigrade, cat, or similarly self mutilating and disadvantaged characters in sec.

Digitigrade exposes a weakness in lack of shoes. Where a normal character would not be vulnerable, digitigrade lizards are.

Similarly with cat ears, the vulnerability to the sound is blatant.


This is the elephant in the room. Disadvantaged and handicapped characters should not be in key positions, especially combat ones.



Either this, or reserve the right for players to resign from their roles if they feel their team is being purposely compromised.

If you are playing a role where you have to trust others and you are limited by your weakest member, it's reasonable to want to eliminate someone who purposely makes themselves weak.

This isn't powergaming or esports. It basic logic. A chain is strong as weakest link. Tolerating weak links is a privilege not a right.

They basically trade in opportunity to be antagonists to meta-game around their only applied debuff until they are stripped of the headset. And get valids at the same time

Generally to back up J-mad's opening statement, disadvantageous diversity amongst the police is generally a bad thing because it directs a lot of unwanted racist attention onto the police force as well as exposes loyalties, non-human cliques are not desirable, especially when they are corrupting a member of sec who's meant to be in a position of trust into acting outside the scope of the law to side with their kin rather than uphold station security.

A uniformly human only security force has a degree of complexity (can't understand the prolespeak lizard languages) but also uniformity that is befitting NT lore and standards.

Gating people from entire parts of the game due to a cosmetic option is just crippling the game. At this point what you're trying to pull is just a slippery slope in the opposite direction, pointlessly nerfing a minor cosmetic over and over until you alienate a large enough chunk of the playerbase for them to concede or leave.

I'm have no idea how to translate your second paragraph but I'm assuming you're trying to draw comparisons between the game and real life. This is a fallacy. SS13 is a video game designed with player conflict in mind and design decisions are made in part to encourage situations where people might be at odds. This is what keeps the game healthy and replayable. On top of that, your insanely stupid point is made moot because singular "racial debuff" is negated by sec equipment.

Digitrade cannot be undone and hence should be barred from sec.

I think it's reasonable that if players wish to play a special race they should be affected by their choices.
